You get spell block on items and your skill-tree.

There is currently no way to get equal spell block other than playing gladiator as they have a special skill node that they can pick.

OMG!! This is all I wanted to know!! Sweet baby jesus didn't think that would be so hard. You Sir have an amazing day! Thankyou so very much for answering my question!!

Phew!

Ohh wow okay so when I was googling it was very misleading since other builds like witch etc talked about having equal spell block.

Guess this was removed?

If you're new to PoE, welcome. Something you should learn quickly is that looking at old guides is likely to cause you a great deal of confusion unless you have the background knowledge to notice when something does change. Sometimes nothing will have changed and you'll be fine; other times things will have changed insurmountably and you will be left scratching your head.

GGG have implied there are more changes to block coming in 3.7 that haven't been mentioned yet; we don't have any idea as to the type or scope of those changes, so even builds from the current league may be changed or invalidated in another couple of weeks.

If you're actually interested in "finding basic information" on PoE, generally you can go to the wiki and read it within a short time of any given set of changes. Some things take much longer to filter in to the wiki depending on how niche their application is, but you shouldn't expect to be spoon-fed the information either; it doesn't happen that way.

https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Blocking - contains a list of every source of block (of all kinds) in the game, updated to the current patch. If you had gone their and searched for spell block, you would have found a list of all sources of spell block, and a footnote as follows:

3.4.0
Chance to Block and Chance to Block Spells have been reworked. Now, there is simply Chance to Block Attack Damage and Chance to Block Spell Damage. Sources that previously caused some portion of your block chance to apply to spells now grant Chance to Block Spell Damage at a specific value and do not require other sources of block.

You likely found outdated builds. Like others mentioned,

Many patches ago Stone Lazwhar Amulet and Rainbow Stride Boots would apply X percent of your Attack Block to spellblock.

It was changed a few patches ago.

To make learning worse for you, there may be new items related to block in the Friday patch. :D

Thanks that is noted. I tested a Gladiator Ele/ES build. Have a hierophant Ele/ES build. Now I have this Juggernaught I am testing. Going through some builds to make mistakes and learn as much as I can.

Thinking now for league starter that I will just do Juggernaught and with the upcoming melee changes probably easy just go molten strike.

When will we know what changes? Won't know till it happens?

Thanks

Thankyou so much for the tip and greetings :) Greatly appreciate it.

Think I am going to work out then come back and read. I got so frustrated trying to find basic information hahaha I was like what the heck.

Just playing a few builds and learning the items, skill tree and mechanics so when legion hits hopefully I have a path to play with a basic understanding. I level 2 other builds to 66 and 60. So probably will take this guy to 60 and see how it goes. So far so good think Marauder will be my league starter.

You can see this week news schedule here. Patch notes will be posted in 2 days (Wednesday night if you live in Europe), Path of Building should be updated around that date too. :)
