It's Eclipse League.
So it looks like the new mechanic is going to be of the Breach variety, rather than "The Grand Arena Mode" that I initially suspected. Does kind of fit with GGG's confidence it will be popular, so long as it's not massively overtuned. I suspect we touch a thing and it transforms the entire area monsters and all into stronger things which drop valuable loot - so we have to mop up as many as we can before the Eclipse ends; aka speed-clearing maps and getting better rewards for doing so during an Eclipse when it's riskier. It could incentivize tanky builds such as melee which can lure packs from all over a map before touching the Eclipse for the biggest rewards. |
