I would like to just do delve and not maps.

Delve, for me, is simply the best league since Harbinger. The only negative Delve had was that I had to stop some times to get more sulphite. Now here is when someone comes and says something along the lines of "of course it's so rewarding blah blah blah rewards" Well that has nothing to do it. Delve was great not because of rewards or loot or anything, Delve simply had a better end game design than the atlas. Delve rewarded me for being able to complete content with progression, the Atlas on the other hand doesn't necessarily, progression in the Atlas is random, you can do everything right and still lose. Now some people will say things like "that's how life works" to which the obvious answer is that's not why I play games.

Delve is progression based on accomplishment and it's great, and going back to maps is horrid in comparison. I'd just play Delve all day and not the rest of the game given the choice, even without fossils or the treasure at the end of a juncture, just with regular drops, it's simply a better end game.

Yes, and the same should be done for Incursion, Betrayal, Bestiary, Synthesis, Abyss, Breach, Shrines, Tormented Spirits and all the other upcoming and former leagues.

Making mapping 'pure' again would also allow proper balance to be done in the game, as well as let people choose the content they want to do.
GGG balance is like getting a pizza which is burnt on the sides, raw in the middle and misses the most of the toppings.
Then upon sending it back you get a raw side, burnt middle and enough toppings to drench everything in grease.
Everything fixed but still broken.
Delve without rewards? Meh
Whole fun is made by running into darkness to search for hidden treasures.
I could do without cities but fossils and chests? Nah thanks
Mapping is very disruptive and has devolved into many useless layers of unnecessary tinkering:

Non-stop trading for chisels/vaals/sextants.
Managing influence ping-pong.
Checking for atlas objectives.
Rolling maps tripple checking for reflect.

Delve has none of that nonsense. Choose difficulty level and click on cart and go. Elegant and simple.

I wish i could delve more too. Scarabs dont solve delve accessibility - under lvl 600 its a waste of currency to buy them.

Well without the extra rewards, just the same level as maps. It's just a better end game progression design. Mapping has just devolved from mediocre to hot garbage.

In delve I try to do the next step because I could do the previous step, it's a great design. Mapping is very much a crapshoot where the best case scenario feels like what should happen all the time, and anything short of that is awful.

Boring. This is an ARPG, huge part of every ARPG is loot.
Without "extra rewards" delve would turn into defective version of mapping.
People don't pick regular loot while mapping. Currency, divination cards, maps, meta uniques and some shaper/elder items are all that really matters.

What you want is a little game. Run from point A to B to get nothing. Doing this is neither challenging nor fun. Darkness mechanic and rewards are all that really matters. It's risky, it's fun and it's rewarding (kinda, no idea why people glorify profit they can make in delve, i can make so much more without any effort in maps).

Just purchase few hundreds chisels/sextants bulk - it would be enough for days, may be week. You don't need vaals to sustain maps (but you also can buy them bulk).

You are opening your atlas every 3 map to add sextants, you don't need extra time to "check" for objective.

You forget to mention how it is disruptive to click mouse and press buttons on keyboard. Such lame excuses...
retired from forum because of censorship and discrimination
(also poe2 bad)

I'm going through at least 40 maps per day... would be a LOT more if we weren't always pulled away. That's 160 chisel minimum.
Buying sextants is absolutely awful sadly, tried it, nearly nobody answers, no matter the price or stored amount.

It's around 50% of your total return over time though, a single ilvl 86 elder T1 base is worth several exalts after all, and you'll get 1 or 2 along the line.

This pretty much sums it up.
