I can't shake the suspicion that Sin could actually be [major spoilers]

If Sin is Kitava then why did Sin create the beast ?

Kitava had "endless hunger" he just wanted to feed on everything/one. Sin created something that ended (or paused) Kitava's endless hunger.

I like your theory, but it seems a little far fetched. Sin's actions are a big contradiction to Kitava's basic instinct. Unless there was another secret motive for why Sin created the beast, but that's all speculation/theory crafting.

We needs more lore !

maybe "the beast" is the town that was destroyed/corrupted when sin was cremated.

Not sure I am convinced that Sin is Kitava. Having similar backstories wouldn't necessarily mean it's the same event, but could be a parallel to allow comparing and contrasting the characters and how they became different after their origins.

It's true we could see Sin become a possible antagonist in the future due to the possibilities he can now exploit, but I don't think it would be because he's secretly Kitava this whole time.

I think it's more probable than not that Sin is meant to be an actual redemption story. Kitava is meant to be much like Sin, but irredeemable.

Sin may or may not recognize this. He may ignore his own greed knowing Kitava's is worse. Or he may not actually be greedy, he has grown and wants to fix the world.

That, or he laughs at how pathetic the other gods are. He pulls off the biggest power play of them all. He makes every other god appear undesirable. He doesn't try to convince thousands of followers to ravage cities. He picks one exile (one who has proven more powerful than the gods) and through little pushes, and a little power sharing, he eliminates every other god and gets thousands of followers.

I still think it's more likely Sin will be helping you kill mother to save humanity, rather than to rule it...but only slightly more likely.
