Hi everybody,

I really think i need some kind of help/advice on my build. I am new to PoE and it seems like i have no clue on what i am doing :). My problem is that i am stuck at act 8, i get one-shotted, by bigger enemies, i die really quick to simple mobs. Everything went pretty good until act 7, but i managed tru it. But now i cant finish missions coz i die really really fast, so i am guessing i have missed something while gearing my char.

Thank you in advance:

If you use Cast on Critical support gem, you need to have an attack (see tag on skill gem) and spell gem which will then be triggered by your attack skill. It means that you need to have three linked socket/gems to make this work. CWDT (Cast when Damage Taken) have a requirement for what level (level on gem, not your character level) on linked gem to be able to trigger those gems. In general you need to keep CWDT and linked gem as low as possible so it will trigger with as little damage taken as possible. That means take very good look at which gems you level up when those are ready to level up.

In general read tooltip/text on gem as it describes what conditions that need to be meet to work as trigger gem.

You can find more information on PoE wiki.

https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Path_of_Exile_Wiki

Almost all your gems are without any working features now. Replace CWDT with new one (your gem have now a requirement for level 65, so it would cost too much to reduce it to level 38) and link that to Immortal Call support gem. Keep both at requirement level 38 as long as possible to trigger it as often as possible. Those gem that you have levelled up, keep them as might use them on another character.

Pierce support gem on your ring is for projectile which you don't use with swords. (Bow and some spells are considered projectile in this game).

Use instead aura or some other gems that reserve mana and provide you with a feature that doesn't need to be linked to work as more defensive measure in those one socket rings. (It is ok if you only use it to level up gems also.) Just remember that you need to enable aura each time you die, if you don't have it on your skill bar to save space for your active skills.

Look into what skill gem that can give you mobility (there are some melee skill for mobility, but as an example Flame Dash is good start as it is fire based and get you across gaps and enemies, but you need intelligence (blue socket) to be able to equip it). Your boots have armour and energy shield as base stats (look at top) which make it easier to use Orbs of Chromatic to get one or more socket blue (armour=strength and ES=intelligence). Try to roll Chroma until you get the right combination and then link it if needed. As for Flame Dash you could use another blue socket to link it to Faster Casting support or Spell Echo (support).

When you have access to craft mods on boots, make sure to get speed/movement on you boots as those are the only item that can have movement increase. You can craft it at your craftbench after you have unveiled that mod from Immortal Syndicate (Jun).

You can add enchantment on your hands, feet and head (see link).

https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Enchantment

As for getting through story until Epilogue where you talk with Zana and start mapping, fire resistance is the most important resistance and enough life pool. Armour only reduce damage from physical source.

You can use Purity of Elements in your ring (use Orb of Chroma to change colour to blue/int to get resistance from aura. At least until you find gear that have the right resistance and life to build on.

Flask is also an option as those can have resistance. Make sure that you roll life flask with low life mod, so when you are around 35% life you will heal directly. Look up wiki on flask so you understand how this work and have better option to fit something to your need. As an example fighting Kitava with flask that have immunity for fire and also Ignite can help a lot during that situation. Remember that you also have ground based DoT (damage over time) and not only hits that can be elemental damage (or chaos/poison).

Bleeds (ailment) can also kill you fast when you move a lot which is caused by physical damage as an ailment. Get flask with different reduction of damage types can help a lot to survive when you have mobs and magic/rare/unique bosses mixed in that mob.

Getting res to 70-75% is my main priority immediately after beating act5

Its more important than anything else in the game.
It doesnt always work out as planned and you can/have to finish the story with like 60% allres sometimes when you know what you are doing.

Thats why Act6 is harder than 7,8,9 for me since I am not rescapped in Act6 but always rescapped/close to in 7-9.

The next big thing is life leech and decoy totem
you can always get a decoy totem with any char after you finished Act6
You absolutely have to get some sort of life leech !
Decoy Totem helps a ton , too
I use it for all my chars in Campaign

I have so far managed 2 HCSSF Chars through Act1-Act10 Kitava deathless and with both chars (Arc Trapper and Chaos Trickster once you are rescapped and have some sort of life/energy leech + decoy totem the only monster you can still die to is Kitava during bossfight in Act 10... progressing through 7,8,9 gets a complete joke with rescap+leech+decoy totem)

What i dont like on your char besides the horrible gem setup ;)
Is your Ascendancy .
Unstoppable is an Endgame Node !

Its whole purpose is to fight T16/T17 Bosses (Guardians / Elder /Shaper) without getting stunlocked
Its completely worthless for campaign

+ I usually finish the 2nd Lab right before Act8 start.
Its easy with leech and rescap

300 life per act is enough (edit: for SC). from act 5, you need 50+ resists, ideally have all of them except chaos capped

good leveling gear = gear with life and resists. except boots, where you want to prioritize movement speed. You also want to have one piece of equip with 4 linked sockets, where you put your main skill with proper damage supports. Other defense layers are not that relevant while leveling..

Lol, hmmm.. linked sockets you say, i just put what ever jewel in colors that fits. So i have to have them in some kind of order to? This game is a lot to comprehend for a noob.
