Need help with build, stuck at act 8

Hi everybody,

I really think i need some kind of help/advice on my build. I am new to PoE and it seems like i have no clue on what i am doing :). My problem is that i am stuck at act 8, i get one-shotted, by bigger enemies, i die really quick to simple mobs. Everything went pretty good until act 7, but i managed tru it. But now i cant finish missions coz i die really really fast, so i am guessing i have missed something while gearing my char.

#Edit: After all great advice's i got i finally finished Act 8, just by adjusting my elemental resist and some nodes. Now i will try to get some kind of grip on how to set up gems :)

We don't have enough information to help you as your character tab is private by default. You can change it in your privacy settings. It will help if your tree, gear and your defense values will be visible. ;)

Unfortunately i cant load your character into PoB :(

it still says private (probably will be possible in a few minutes)

As someone who has played a Meele Berserker SSF (ONly using Items i found with the very same char and no trade allowed) through Act1-10 only dying 4 times overall ;) (1x kitava act5 1x Brine act6 and 2x Kitava Act10)

I can give you general tipps though

1.) Life -> you want ~ 400 Life per act -> in act8 you should have ~ 3200Life
2.) You want allres 75 and chaos ~ 0 after act6
3.) You need some lifeleech node or ascendacy
4.) You need a functional skill setup of 1-2 attack skills that are buffed with 4-link and some defensive stuff that will greatly enhance your survivability (decoy totem , immortal call , enfeeble)

I guess without seeing your character that you

a) have not enough life
b) not enough res
c) no life leech on tree or ascendancy
d) no immortal call setup
e) no curses

Thats what most people get wrong the first time

Thats way too low
It means you are taking 4times the damage you should !

75% res = MOnsters do 25% damage
0% Res = Monsters do 100% Damage = 4 times as much

Resists, right off the bat. Looking a your gear and passive tree, your resists are, by my guess/calcs:

Fire: -2%
Cold: -15%
Lght: 24%
Chaos: -20%

Your physical reduction is probably around 60% I am guessing, but with no shield, you are mitigating all of that incoming physical instead of the incoming amount minus that which got blocked.

I've read somewhere that the game is balanced around 75% resist in Cold, Fire and Lightning, 0-15% Chaos and 500+ HP per act.

If you are having troubles, I recommend revisiting your tank and getting a lot more tanky. You also need to address your "uh oh" ability setup.

Take it from someone who has hardcore mode teach them harsh lessons about undervaluing tank. I play HC almost exclusively, minus practicing boss fights in SC, and have never been past Act 8 because I have continually failed to properly address my lack of tankiness. My growing legion of toons dumped in standard league testifies to my lack of planning.

My current Chieftain is being played/built with that lack of HC success in mind. And while I am capped on elemental resists, my chaos resist is pitiful, my armor and max life need to go up, and I need more block for both melee and spell. MOAR TANK!

Bottom line, you need a lot more tank. Everywhere.

EDIT - and as ADtesterGM noted, life leech. I am missing that on my chieftain and have been trying to figure out how to add it into my setup. Never enough heal/tank.

500 Life per act is Overkill.

I finished Act10 SSF with 3300 Life as Berserker this morning.
Res , Armor and Evasion are far more important than life.

Simple example 1000Hp + 75% allres is worth 4000hp + 0 allres

+ 3800hp should be enough to finish Act1-Act10 SSF Deathless with a Jugg

You can see my profile but i upgraded weapon for 1 alc and Chest for 1 chaos to play maps after i finished campaign

Rest of the gear and Skilltree is SSF from the playthrough
I found act7-Act9 especially easy and had zero deaths in this 3 acts

300 life per act is enough (edit: for SC). from act 5, you need 50+ resists, ideally have all of them except chaos capped

good leveling gear = gear with life and resists. except boots, where you want to prioritize movement speed. You also want to have one piece of equip with 4 linked sockets, where you put your main skill with proper damage supports. Other defense layers are not that relevant while leveling..
