My ranger has awesome leather armor for pants. My templar on the other hand, looks a bit like a dirty old man in a bathrobe.

+1 for pants!

I honestly cannot understand why people think this is a problem. 2 out of 5 current characters wear pants. The other 3 wear full garments that have been worn by real cultures for thousands of years (much longer than pants).

Pants and a dress? Dumb. Pants and a chiton/toga? Dumb. Pants and a loincloth? Dumb.

Having variety is much better than all the character models wearing the same thing.

Your First paragraphs do not line up with your last sentence.

I'm asking for Variety, but Variety that I choose. If you wanna have a toga party, go for it! But don't force us all to come :)

Id like to see some added to the free game, and the store if possible.

Its cold outside.
I'm glad my ranger doesn't have this problem, as she has worn pants since Day 1.

However, though I am hesitant to admit it, this very topic is what determined my choice of starting character. I saw the awesome Templar trailer a few days before the Public Weekend, and I went in thinking that I would play a templar, for sure.

Then I got to the character selection screen. There the templar is, in a very traditional/historical Greco-Roman (I think?) garment. Pants optional! I thought he looked pretty cool, but it kinda shocked me out of wanting to play him. Take Diablo 2's paladin, for example. The starting paladin wears green pants! How awesome is that? I was really expecting pants.

The ranger was my second choice, so I went with her, and boy do I love everything about her look.

Don't take from this, however, as a claim that I am fully against pantsless characters. I was simply shocked at the lack of pants (as opposed to say Titan Quest, which is set in a rough equivalent of Greece, where it's expected) and it discouraged me from playing them. Perhaps the others here who so vociferously argue in the favour of pants are in the same boat as I.
