Lol don't need to be that old... I'm 37 and still remember very well Blizzard ascension, since they were Silicon & Synapse, etc... Boy I'm old!!

They made really greate games back in the time. But that was indeed a small companhy inside a companhy: Blizzard North. All went down to hell when Blizz North left...

But one thing that made Blizzard games go down was something a lot of companhies are doing today: instead of letting players play the game the way they want, they are forcing players to play the game the way the devs want, throwing a lot of MTX and gambling for real money to try and boost their income.

Really? When do you remember this? Because when I went to university back in 2000 when Diablo 2 first came out (yes I'm dating myself here lol) Blizzard was a massive company, maybe not employee wise but definitely sales wise, they sold over 2 million copies within the first month and a half of release or something crazy like that.

I remember times when Blizzard was small company. In the mid of 90-ties they released Warcraft 1 and later 2 - this company did not have even 20 people! In 2000 when Diablo 2 was released Blizzard had 200 employees (and they were dealing with other games in the same time!). Do you know what is currently a big success of GGG? People still believe this is small, maybe few people company, that needs support, because maybe they will stop to give a free to play access, they need to grow, so maybe one day this game will be professional, but now GGG is poor... but gives free to play game, so we cannot complain. THIS GAME IS BUSINESS WORTH 100 mln. USD! GGG employs 130 people - very close number to Blizzard in the end of nineties. But Blizzard those times was able to create a sealable product which was complete and almost free of bugs when it was introduced on the market. GGG is dealing with only one game 6 years already and they cannot get rid of obvious bugs and are still able to create content which causes players to escape. Treating Steam PoE players pool as stratified sample we can see that month ago, same Friday evening they reached 110,000 players and at his moment there is 18,200 players online - more than 80% of players population has gone in one month. Great achievement!
