Why is a Chaos worth 2 Fusings?

Seems to be the going rate, yet since playing since OB day 1, I have had dozens upon dozens of Fusings, possibly hundreds, and seen only a handful of Chaos drop. I realise people burn Fusings more often, but is that the reason?
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.
I dont care what the reason is. I'm using it to stock up on chaos with the mass ammount of fusings I find/craft
It's pretty simple supply and demand. Supply of Fusings is moderate, but the demand is massive.

I actually haven't seen this trade made very often anymore.

you need fusing then you wanna make 5-6L (people dont make it every day)
chaos after 70+ you need them a shet lot re-roll maps

There is way less demand for chaos, and a TON more supply. Probably the majority of chaos is found from vendoring rares while farming. You need fusings for everything, 100+ if you want to 5L something, still need a bunch for 4L helms/boots/gloves, but most people aren't going to bother with chaos because the chance of getting a good rare worth the chaos is really low. Chaos basically is only used for rerolling 5L/6L rares and high level maps, and you won't be spending 100s at a time.

A Chaos is "worth" two fusings, because most people seem to think an alch is of equal value to a fusing (I somewhat disagree). Since an alch plus a scouring performs the same function as a Chaos Orb, and a scour is roughly the same value as an alch (and thus a fusing), you end up with Chaos = 2 fusings.

That is if you take this values to be correct.
Chaos are worth 2 fusings is due to again supply and demand.

Fusings there is huge supply but also huge demand.

Chaos is low supply and moderate demand.

Thats why chaos is rougly 2 fusings.

The reason why this prob will not change is due to the amount of fusings needed to 5L and 6L gear.

When you are trying to go from 5L to 6L... there is ZERO compromise, you basically expend as many fusings as you need to get that 6L.

Same thing with 4L boots/gloves/helm... there is ZERO compromise, you spend as many fusings as possible to get that 4L because it is REQUIRED for certain builds.

Whereas chaos... you can compromise quite a bit, you might reroll a chest, it might not be "perfect", but you'll think "meh I can live with that"... whereas in the case of fusings, you don't go "meh I can live with that" you either get the links you want or you don't.
