Nexus rewards are OP - NVM, they still suck (spoke too soon)
" Speak for yourself. I left because the league mechanic was boring as fuck and came back after the changes. The rewards were SLIGHTLY undertuned before the change and I would have continued playing had they left the loot and changed everything else. The loot is absolutely ridiculous now. There's a massive difference between balancing something and fattening the purse because no one wants to touch your boring ass content, which is the point of this post. You apparently missed it. EDIT: I don't think the league is boring after the patch, although I do agree with the OP that they overtuned the loot on purpose because they wanted to bring more players back. It's incredibly obvious. Last edited by BrownTown86#7432 on Apr 2, 2019, 2:42:53 PM

What kind of senseless self-flagellation is this?
Who complains about getting too much stuff? I bet you were the kind of kid who reminded your teacher at the end of class that she forgot to give you an assignment. Why are you actively working against your own fun and reward? I actually think the rewards are great! You don't always get a ton of great stuff, but when you do IT FEELS GOOD. But, God forbid we ever feel good playing a game. |

They over turned it out of disrespect to complains' irrationality. It's a show of passive contempt. And I don't blame them. It's like if a kid keeps crying for candy and you just stop caring whether their teeth rot out or not and you just let them eat all the dam candy they want.

" I was here practically from the beginning. It's not GGG that has changed. It's the community. Gone is the spirit of discovery and the willingness to figure things out. People are resting on their currently accumulated wealth of PoE knowledge with complete satisfaction and they refuse to learn anything more. If one so called bad mechanic is introduced into the game - with all the other core mechanics that you enjoyed STILL intact - people erupt and say the entire league is garbage. Which I'm sorry is complete irrationality. Gamers have become drunk on mob mentality. EA and Bethesda and others have got them all primed and ready to pop at a moment's notice. But look, now everyone's shitting on good things too, because they've begun to lose their minds in all the power to destroy. I'm not saying gamers weren't always this way. But nowadays anything less than some abstract brand of perfection is bound to be labeled as 'garbage'. Which is a shame that so many lovely things are going to be shat on now because of this. |

" I think the point the OP is making is that GGG insists that PoE always has to be a starvation arpg in order to keep too many players from racing though all the game content, get to level 100 on a couple of builds, and then permanently quit. GGG thinks they lose that player and any future mtx forever. Ok, so GGG makes PoE with 99.99% trash loot so we must play longer to find the game gold and gems and continue working builds toward 100 (must always ignore the outliers and their level 100 in first month of league play). But this time GGG goes way to complicated on league mechanic such that "this is way too much work to be entertaining anymore" and with no better rewards for all this extra work we'd rather quit than continue. GGG lost site of the big picture that gaming is for "entertainment purposes" (not counting streamers) and thus if a league mechanic has us jumping through too many hoops to get any reward then we'll go do something else (like play Grim Dawn expansion). GGG has had to come to this realization the hard way with large drop in daily players after the first few weeks of Synthesis start. Now GGG is in damage control mode and must make a serious course correction with much better rewards to stop bleeding players. But even with this it's likely too late for this league. I'm already playing something else, thanks but no thanks GGG. I'll be back for next league. That's what a lot of players are doing now. GGG has never really figured out that the 98% of player base (us casuals) aren't wanting a racing shooter arpg. D2 was never like that and we all group played the hell out of it multiple times, did the expansion, played around with 3rd party mods, etc. Hell, I was almost tempted to do a reboot last year (came close but didn't) and play Path of Diablo mod after seeing the ZiggyD video and his comments on how good it is for D2. Now that GGG has foobar-ed PoE to the max and pushed the hardware requirements too high to justify spending any more to upgrade video, cpu, and now memory (8 GB is no longer enough to not get freezes with Incursion encounters) I like the idea of my 2 BFFL and me group playing PoD... and not ever having to worry about performance problems. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.
