nothing brings me more joy than having to go BACK to story mode when at level 80+ because I've exhausted all maps and all my resources so I can't even turn to the market.

The "delicate balance" aka having more maps drop only has a positive effect on your players and a negative one on people who use Path of Exile as a place for business.

the entire POINT of maps is the start of end game. I haven't even thought about shaper, elder, whatever else yet... because I'm not getting maps and mats to even do anything.

you have to prioritize the people who are actually making the time investment to play the game. who's going to invest their time when it's just brutally punishing?

im about to fall back to white maps if these next couple yellow maps don't drop anything. i've already atlas completed 27 T6+ and I'm down to 3 left. I don't like my odds.

This league has been bad decision after bad decision and ultimately that falls on Chris. He should be fired.

I have 0 faith that the next league will even be remotely entertaining and the big 4.0 will probably be a clusterfuck of stupidity.

I think they should rethink the idea of an expansion every 3 months. Maybe every 4 month with better testing would be a step in the right direction. But what do I know.
I did not have big issues getting maps, just not the right ones for masters missions/ elder or shaper influence/ elder guardians. That's what's eating them.

Also all you ppl complaining that you hit a wall in yellow/ red maps. Try completing the previous tier I swear it helps tremendously. So finish at least three quarters of white/ yellow maps before moving on to accumulate pool of yellow/ red maps respectively.

Map drop rates are a joke because the amount of loot we drop in general is a joke, they could double it and plenty of people would still not get enough maps as it will go from 0.000005% to 0.00001%.

Their map drop system as is works fine as long as you fall in the common area for drop rng but it really falls apart if you get into the 10% unluckiest category (fictional zone but you get my point).
Clearing a map in 5 mins means you need allot of maps.

This morning I reached red Tier maps (I did not have a single one after completing all my Tier 10 and below). I ended up buying 9 corrupt rare T11 or T12 maps (i wanted the atlas completions) which were all priced at 4 chaos each... After running 9 corrupt, rare maps (4 were 8 mods) I got 1 T11 map in return.. 9 corrupt rare red maps and only 1 in return.

It doesn't feel like their Hot Fix fixed anything
Man am I glad I dont care about map drops. I do care what's dropping in them though.

Also explains why I could sell a batch of 50 white maps for 100 chaos in standard.
