Game crashes when you hit bloodline mob packs

I believe its tied specifically to Bloodline mobs that drop chaos damage on death from my experience.

I opened a thread as well yesterday and it is happening on more frequent occasions today. This is getting incredibly frustrating as I lose xp or miss out on an incursion that was for a T3 map room etc. :(
ok after hours testing different gems i found out that the crash happens when you hit union of souls pack using herald of ice. i took it off and now im not crashing anymore

This is exactly what I just came here to post. Union of souls cause my issue, and I am using Herald of Ice.

I just turned on shadowplay so I can look at what happens leading up to it, and the most recent one did not have blue monsters. The crash happened literally the MOMENT the slow from tar debuff came up on my screen.

Try deleting the following folders, found inside your PoE Folder: "CachedHLSLShaders", "ShaderCache", "ShaderCacheD3D11", and "ShaderCacheD3D11_GI". As always, make a backup first. It's also normal to only have 2-3 of these. I think HLSLShaders are on for everything, ShaderCache is from the DX9 client, D3D11 is from the standard DX11 client and the _GI is if you have Global Illumination on. Once deleted the game should rebuild them as it needs to in game.

I've never had this problem before 3.6, but if I leave the shadercache folders to build for a day or two I get increasingly worse performance to the point where every few maps I get an errorless crash. Deleting the folders seems to alleviate the problems for a little while. The game REALLY shouldn't be running better while it has to build the shaders compared to unpacking them, but that's how the client is right now... for me anyway. For me this alleviates the performance dips from Syndicate mobs, shattering, and the Blood Altar / having too many bestiary things on screen at once, and who knows what else. When the dips get really bad the client likes to errorlessly crash a lot as well. This is coming from someone who had no performance issues in 3.5.0 using DX11 w/ Global Illumination. I have a GTX1060 if that's any help.

Sounds like you're seeing a different issue than in these posts mentioned.

Same thing for me and i also crash when i get get the souleater buff from HH. Literally can't play the game anymore if this doesn't get fixed. Feelsbad :(

I seriously doubt it. There might be multiple causes for the same crash, but that doesn't make it a different issue.

A direct crash to desktop with a specific error code in event viewer and no error on crash, loosely linked to running into packs of mobs with on death or after death effects.

You're right that it could be a different issue, but I'd put money on it having the same source.

Doesn't work for me :( I still shatter mobs though due to cold dmg maybe its because of shattering and not herald specific

Finally game crashed with mobs left over and I can confirm it is directly related to the Bloodlines mod Union of Souls.
