DoT Spells dont Cull enemies

Heartbreaker dagger has the unique explicit "Your spells have culling
strike" this however does not work with Bane, does not work with Blight. I have not tested Essence Drain but from from these two interactions it's kind of safe to draw the conclusion that ED doesnt cull either, all three of these gems have the "spell" tag, am I missing something, please elaborate. standard and hardcore are two different games ! That's because DOTs aren't hits and we can only cull with hits. Some chaos spells do hit once but I think that unless you dropped the hp below the threshold with the hit and not the subsequent DOT, it wouldn't work.

I know DoTs aren't hits brother, these are some messed up interactions !
I'm not sure(might be mistaken) but I think Caustic Arrow's DoT cloud supported by CS(either gem or the elder mod on a bow) culls. I'm gonna need to test this out. I appreciate the info @Zphyr ! standard and hardcore are two different games !
