So yes, the armour can be OP, but you first need the orbs to buy it and even with the armour you're not invincible.
Its comparable to CI, no more energy shield -> death.
(oh, and youre making some weird choices in your build tree, get rid of inner force)

did you see my 'gear downgrade section' ?
and do you know that 90% more spell dmg x 1.3 (inner force)=117
not to mention inner force is a MUST for most end game build anyway...works too well with auras

The main problem, which you haven't really discussed, is also the problem of any CI build: being prone to stun and status ailments and having bad defenses (block, armour, you name it). You will need Totems and/or Minions, so you don't need to tank. Of course you do enough damage that most mobs won't come near you, but still.
I personally would dual wield a redbeak and ephermal edge. while using this build
