Change To Chaos Orb Recipe
Well, time to go through the storage and organize everything.

Oh no!
Now i have to level my *loot increasers* to level 35+ and farm the ledge/fellshrine/merveil on merciless to get chaos orbs. If not ill get the useless and not worth anything *chance orbs* that can create uniqes/rare gear... *sigh* The nerf was a misdirected one. It didnt do what it was supposed to do. Implement /players 6 and *fix* party mechanics. (after the desync/DC issues though, as they are more urgent.) |

Not sure how to post images, I'l edit to just show the url if it doesn't work. Edited. Anyway this is a full set of ilevel 77/78 rares. Only the helm, gloves, 2H and belt are ilevel 77, rest are ilevel 78. Exchanging the ilevel 78 Chest for an ilevel 75 Chest still gives me a Regal. Exchanging the ilevel 77 2H for an ilvel 73 2H will give me a Chaos. Exchanging the ilevel 77 2H for an ilevel 76 1H and an ilevel 72 1H will give me a Chaos. Exchanging either ilevel 78 ring for a ilevel 71 one will give me a Chaos. I was able to get a Chaos for exchanging stuff in for ilevel 63/64 gear as well. I couldn't find any ilevel 74 compatible rares but I am assuming everything +60 for a Chaos, +75 for a Regal and x2 for unid. Who on earth would leave ilevel 75 stuff, rings and amulets especially, unid anyway? To be honest, I agree that they needed to change the recipes but this is a bit extreme. Cloudwolfe / Scrubwolfe. Full set of item level 64 with 20% quality unid gives 3 chaos instead of 2 regal. Getting regals is going to be a pain in the ass now.

Sounds like there is no point in vendor recipes till you hit map stages. It's pretty lame and now the unid'd rings I have saved are junk :( I for one hate chance orbs I used 20 chances in a row and every single thing turned blue.

Jesus just stop complaining already. Exploting low level content was not the way to go and so retarded anyway. If you find this game hard and unrewarding on low level content then just switch to sims or tetris.

I dont think you understand the point. People arent just simply whining.
The point here is that I'm personally feeling punished for something that was fun for me and wasn't that game-breaking. I had accumulated a whole set of IIR/Q gear and was farming ilvl59 rares to make chaos and regal recipes. When I didnt feel like doing maps (which require some concentration) I had fun farming whether in felshrine/western/crossroads/oldfields. I dont feel like I was breaking the game, getting maybe 2-3 chaos and maybe a regal per hour (rings are a serious bottleneck to this recipe). Now why set the bar at 59? It's like saying "Felshrine farm = not ok, go farm Docks or city of sarn instead". That does not make sense to me. Docks is barely harder than fellshrine, I just feel like my fun factor suddenly got limited by a overwhelmed game developper hasty decision. Now I dont know what other people were doing on very low level content? Vaal farming? Its not like you can just kill Vaal and reset zone, didnt people had to run through the 3 pyramid zones? I dont see how that could be rewarding. Also dont forget there is a currency and an experience penalty if you farm low level content. People doing it were not getting experience nor as many orbs drops. I remember hearing Chris' interview where he explicitely said that it's ok if players are feeling overpowered and are having fun doing so. It just seems to me that all patches since open beta are just nerfs after nerfs. I feel my fun factor is being constrained more and more. I'm slowly but surely losing faith in GGG's game design decisions. That's my main problem here. |

i can understand both opinions:
fun beeing limiteded and constraining multiboxing/exploint low level content farm For me th change of the chaos orb recipe is no loss, because I can farm maps anyway and also there are a lot of other smart recipes you can use. Furthermore creating a chaos orb was not THAT lucrative, if you compare it with vendoring for ALTs and Alch shards. The only think I want from vendor recipes is that they are useful and no noob trap. Also you have to consider that currency values might change. Maybe Orbs of Chances will be worth more after severel new uniques are introduced into the game? I dont see the change too critical. Giving an incentive to farm high level content is a good decision. " i hate it when people dont try to see the overall picture. Why is the change a nerf? As i said, currency values change and its definitly possible, that the recipe will be as viable as before, because Chaos/Chances are going to increase in value. |
