I like your suggestion too much to not copy it here.

+ 1 yes
AND @GGG listen to this : PLEASE add a button "remove tab" or "empty tab" or whatever for all these crap tabs moved to standard every 3 month and need to be emptied manually before they disappear this is ANNOYING af thank you ! |

Quite annoying that reset atlas so frequent.
Please make map stash tab be able to store every league versions of maps. |
|

This absolutely needs a solution.
You cant just do stuff like this every league. I have thousands of maps. |

" I don't equate the two, but you speak of them as if they are directly conflicting interests. At the very least, they are complementary goals. Wash your hands, Exile!

I actually even considered another possible "compromise" solution that came up as interesting...
What if GGG changed the map series back to a prior one, so we could just use the existing stash tab we already had? I suppose I wouldn't mind a rotation between 3 different generations. (or maybe even spruce up the square maps to make an Atlas out of them, too!) But yeah, at this point, the current plan of "make standard players buy a new map tab EVERY season" is, simply put, an intentional cash grab, and nothing more. It shows us players that we never had a reason to trust GGG's direction on the subject; all suspicions we'd had over the past year-plus were well-founded, and any trust was misplaced. " In the modern era of nickel-and-dime MTX and lootboxes... They are often at odds with each other, yeah. " Nor will the issue go away. It may not affect brand-new players, but they'll catch on pretty quickly come their second league. And with every subsequent league trust in GGG will drop more and more, both from us veterans and from newer players. It won't kill the game, but it is and will continue to be ever-widening stain on GGG's reputation. Wash your hands, Exile!

" Well, "kill" will need a specific definition. Path of Exile will not die a sudden or catastrophic death; successful online games tend not to do that. Rather, it'll just enter a downward spiral; it's never actually considered "dying," but it kinda is. And yeah, in some places PoE has already set its trajectory for that. I can't really specify a single spot, because it's been gradual, and in different sectors; and moreover, has seen IMPROVEMENTS in some areas while getting WORSE in others. e.g, the power creep started with 2.0, got worse with Ascendancy, and became out of control by Abyss; Betrayal is the fourth big jump... But at the same time, we've had new content that improved the experience, too; the Atlas (and War) were big improvements, as was the streamlined single-run playthrough, the Azurite Mines, etc. In terms for the company-player relations, you're definitely 100% correct. While GGG may think it won't affect new players, they forget that new players don't stay "new" longer than a few months. Eventually they become regulars. And if they alienate all regulars, then they're going to have this revolving door of new players excited, turning into old-timers disillusioned with their tactics who drift off. It costs a LOT more to keep grabbing short-term new players than to just maintain a single older player paying the same money. What GGG is doing is not sustainable; I honestly doubt that they realize this. My guides: Summon Homing Missile (SRS) | Act II starter RF | Budget Oro's Flicker Strike
