Divination cards for each type of unique jewel (crimson/viridian/cobalt) - a SSF solution
There are currently 74 unique jewels (excluding quest rewards, drop restricitons and lab rewards) that can drop. And if you need a build enabler (such as The Golden Rule)
Only cards are The Garish Power - set of 4 and The Eye of the Dragon set of 10 Both of which calculate jewel rarity (you mostly get threshold jewels) Or hell, even a non-threshold unique jewel would be awesome Last bumped on Feb 9, 2019, 6:43:33 PM

There is no SSF-solution, SSF isn't the standard for balancing the game, it is no more than a self chosen challenge.
But I agree, have divination cards for each base type of jewel might not be a bad idea. That said, since Charan pointed out that it's not really up to GGG .... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jan 31, 2019, 8:15:35 PM

Indeed.
Playing SSF w a skill that requires a unique jewel is a no-go. But then again, SSF drops you a unique jewel for a skill and you "OK, thats gonna be my 2nd build I guess. ... Oh wait, for that build I need that other unique to get going, damit." The abomination that SSF can be (especially for casuals), can only be resolved when picking SSF (character creation screen), you also check the tick box "NO MIGRATION." A PERMA SSF. And then, GGG can tweak drops, for PERMA SFF. Problem. GGG got no spare capacity, even for those simple changes. :/ Last edited by RPGNoobANKA#0714 on Feb 1, 2019, 1:39:56 AM

SSF is a challenge mode. Game won't be balanced around a challenge mode. The very purpose of a challenge mode is to make the game harder.
Disagree if you want, that won't change the reality. No matter how obstinate you are about it. |

" no no no no no no no no no SSF is NOT for people who feel entitled to getting always more and more and more. If you don't like SSF the way it is now, don't play it, period. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Yay, rant incoming:
It's funny how PoE has been adamantly balanced around one feature people also detest the most -trading- yet any classic ARPG was about looting your own gear by actually playing the game. I'm not gonna play trade leagues ever, period. It's okay, handicapping myself isn't that bad and I rather live with that than trade for the things I rather drop meanwhile slaying monsters (in other words, it's a personal choice of what I think playing ARPGS should be about). I just find it curious how those who actually wanted to loot their gear and make the game balanced around playing the game should be seen 'entitled' while this was the case with every single ARPG from the beginning of time, rightfully so. Meanwhile, the game itself resembles more of a farming simulator, since GGG makes it so that the actual drops rarely ever count. Most of the time you play SSF you just keep farming everything, picking singleton orbs up. It takes more time than trash mobs to die, which is sad. QoL? Oh, no. It would be entitlement not having to click a f*ckton times picking up enough alteration orbs to craft anything. It would be out of the question to see those orbs, say 1/10 of the time but in bundles of 5-10. You see, at it's current state picking up things slows player more than killing the mobs does. |

" I do not think I am entitled in wanting to have a realistic chance long-term in a PERMANENT SSF (Standard) league for a threshold jewel (eg Spreading Rot). And I am not talking (wanting) pity timers or smart loot (D3). "pure RNG" (Chris Wilson) is pure RNG, and if it is up to RNGesus, I will NEVER get a Spreading Rot jewel drop in SSF Standard (as is) for however long I play. This is a fact. " Yes, you are.
Spoiler
" That said, having more threshold jewel choice as a a5 quest reward is not a bad suggestion, but that's not a ssf thing, that's something for all leagues. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Feb 7, 2019, 8:50:49 PM

Can you ask them to drop most of the threshold jewel ( the stupid ones, 90%+ of them ) and add their effects in the skillgems all together ?
I know, I'm being unreasonnable, well .... one can hope ( I don't really have hopes for the future of this game I think actually, unfortunately ) SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
