the price about exalted
" I defend trade bots not because I run bot(s) myself, but because they provide very limited, but working “currency action house”. They do not harm anybody, moreover are very helpful for theorycrafters like me. For instance, recently I need to buy 1500 vaal orbs. Finally I did it in 3 transactions with bots, and even such deal took me more then 20 minutes, as many shops did not responded. All via “official” trade site, looks like it refreshes as slow as poe.trade btw. If I would like to buy such quantity from real, non bot players, I could do such thing in at least 25 transactions, with much worse rate and really huge timewasting. |

" I don't know.. i liked it when crafting a single mod did not cost over 300 chaos orbs |

" He's not talking about trade bots, those are godsends. He's talking about these blokes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVAdhe98nlw&feature=youtu.be that farm exalt cards in act 3 and 7. Last edited by Sixtysan#6617 on Jan 4, 2019, 8:48:29 AM

Conclusion of this thread:
Not the bot fault. Not the flipping groups treating this game as a work fault. Not RMT fault. The economy design failed by itself. Those are just a little part of the problem, profiting of it's weakness. Hf :)

" Oh, these cocroaches :) I can assure you, they will never be banned, as they are... very good for GGG's business. Players, who are stupid enough to buy some pixels for real money will buy MTX too – very valuable morons from GGG’s point of view. Current bot infestation ensures the inflow of currency to the most valuable players - those, who can spend real dollars for ilussive pixels, no matter whether it is "exalted orbs" or some shiny "wings". Not to mention the vague connections of RMT shops owners and providers. Some time ago one of them owned significant share in GGG :) |

F2P games with any sort of currency or item trading + botting go together like a horse and carrots. You can't have one without the other. To claim that they aren't an issue and don't have a significant impact on the economy of the game is simply ignorant.
Unfortunately there isn't much that GGG can do about it. They would either have to A) Change the payment model for the game. B) Blow tons of money on staff to police the game. or C) Develop or purchase a stellar anti-cheat system. The sad fact is that game integrity takes a back seat to profitability for online games and it likely will never change. Last edited by energumenus32#1156 on Jan 4, 2019, 10:16:31 AM

i dont know if bots are the issue, but wouldnt bots farming lower the price of exalt ?
its more likely, as other people already said, that its the easy way to get those exalt crafts now, so more people need exalts/keep their exalts. imo, we need to switch away from the chaos/exalt exchange guideline, and just sell stuff in chaos only. at least for now. |

" Nope, it's vice versa. Exalteds are used as primary PoE currency. Therefore, Real Money Traders (RMT) sell Exalted Orbs for real $$$, not other currency. Bots usually serve to RMT. RMT also sell all other currencies for Exalted Orbs (since they need ONLY exalteds, to sell them for real $$$). Market principle dictates, that several RMT on market, competing with each other for player's Exalteds, will raise Exalted's worth on market. EXACTLY what we see in PoE!!! And exalteds cant be "target-farmed", you (and bots, that serve RMT) always gain a shitloads of other currency while "farming" them (for example, running Vault map). Why does it matter what price exalts are? If they are 1000c and you get an exalt drop, you have 1000c. If they are 10c, then you have 10c.
Value is just a number, the fact that you need one, don't get a drop and have to buy it makes it seem like it's unfair, but that's just it. Farm them yourself then. Personally, I'd never use an exalt to craft as long as they sell for over 100c. It's just not worth it, unless you're swimming in them. Also bots farming and selling them is a good thing for the price. The demand with crafting being so popular right now is at an all-time high, without bots, there'd be even less supply to meet this demand and prices would skyrocket. At the same time though, you'd hit a jackpot if you got one dropped yourself. It all evens out, because the price is the same for everyone. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. Last edited by Xavathos#5130 on Jan 4, 2019, 3:37:09 PM

" But your own findings turn worthless therefore. And you've admitted it yourself - you dont use exalteds because... they're too fucking rare, expensive and all-sought to be used for trading, to spend them on "mere crafting". I see a big problem here. Orbs are means to be used for endgame crafting, or they'll fail to serve their primary purpose. If an orb drops too often, or too rarely for what it really does - it's a problem too! IGN: MortalKombat
