Really the only time voidbearers are legitimately dangerous are when they have 3+ splitting (at which point yeah, get out of the way or die horribly), but even then you can completely mitigate the damage with a very low-level arctic armor.

79% fire resist, 48% spell block, 5K physical DPS, 2% life leech/levelled LGoH gem = cakewalk against voidbearers in docks. Don't know about maps, not there yet, but docks voidbearers are not that dangerous.
The thing is : They are way more powerful than anything else in docks damage wise so to maintain balance I think that nerf makes sense.

They were buffed (accidentally possibly) way back when they buffed incinerate. I would guess this nerf is to bring them back to pre-incinerate-buff strength.
guys this thread was from march 6th, voidbearers were ridiculously op back then and they nerfed them, theyre fine now.

Check the dates on posts, for some reason people bump extremely old stuff and just start talking.

i think flamebearer are those snakes casting incinerate, no?
i fear them much more than voidbearers.
I think the skill incinerate and those snakes were added with the same patch that nerfed flamebearers, the snakes didnt exist before that. It was definitely void bearers they nerfed, if you had faced an lmp voidbearer back in jan/feb youd definitely have been glad to see the nerf. I agree now theyre not a big deal, the snakes are worse for sure.

They bumped it because in the most recent (11.6) main patch, Chris mentioned that 'Flamebearers' were getting an other nerf. In addition to the one already posted in this thread.

I tend to agree, my 73 ranger has garbage gear and neg resists and while Voids are the only thing I fear at the docks, I have plenty of time to get out of the flame before it kills me. Barring desync of course, but still having 1 powerful enemy wasnt the end of the world. Yes in maps hes prob a beast tho so its a good thing!


what about 73 maps with magic voidbearers; you know, taking on mobs of equal level.....
How about get a shield? or 75% fire resistance. Then voidbearers actually will give you life by attacking you. I love fighting them in maps, its specific encounter that I know I cannot possibly die in. Adding them to a pack of anything is instant win. All you need is an anvil or an aegis. On another note, my duelist, dual wield with 75% fire resist, and 3% life leech (nearly nothing) isnt taking any significant damage from them either.
