Delve is an example of why I stopped playing POE
I can consider myself a pretty casual or erratic player, all my chars together may sum like 800-900 hours in about 4 years. I skip more leagues than which I play (skipped last 3 in a row), and still don't see what's the problem with the endgame.
It's simple, and not limited to just arpg games. It can be called "Achievement => Reward". If you haven't notice, real life works this way, too. Bigger salaries that would allow to have a bigger house and a better car, are hidden behind what you may call "arbitrary walls" like high level of studies, hard work, time and dedication. Do it, and you will eventually have the chance to find a better job; don't do it and, well... you won't. Plain and simple. And you can religiously pay your bills and such, but it won't give you the right, or the chance, to change the system. It works for real life, and it works for every game you wanna look for. Even the most basic and stupid mobile game will have silly rewards like different balls or backgrounds hidden behind "arbitrary walls" called achievements. And getting sulphite isn't even a hard achievement, it's literally everywhere! You could even have said "I can't play with certain item I want because I'd need a previous item to be dropped and a specific prophecy to pop, (plus the ability to compleye the prophecy) or pay someone else an absurd amount of currency unaffordable for a casual". The answer would have been the same, but at least you've have had some good reasoning behind your argument. But getting sulphite? Really?... Feel free to ckeck some skill suggestions:

" disfavor was quite cheap this league. it's also the only item i bought and linked. been very lucky with linking the belly too. made it pretty far this time cause ggg's party downscaling allowed me to play only one char instead of having an additional one to play with friends. skill tree is messed cause i need resistances and tried to utilise bleed. would need to invest multiple exalts into jewelery and flasks but i don't think it's wort it for the last few days. i just even arrived at the point i don't want to level up anymore and have some fun in delve mines. i see op's point when i realise how much fun incould have had in basically free monster level 80+ delves if the league were longer. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Would have been just ~15 regret orbs to get rid of the massive overinvestment in mana leech nodes and a bit of reworking the overall pathing to include some more beneficial damage nodes (mainly the axe wheel in the left). " I play a random mix of tier 10-15, whatever I have and enjoy. This reults in ~600-800 average sulphite per map, or one t81+ Delve node per map. I think 1:1 is an alright percentage. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

" For my part ,I didnt play Delve League because I already know that mapping in Delve was like mapping in Standard. At least ,with Betrayal League, we'll have new content during mapping Path of 0 FPS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

" While maps are vanilla this league, every couple maps, you get to journey into a wonderland of loot and XP. And unlike other leagues, this additional content is separate, which has the benefit that you can map in whatever tiers you want or can access, but still enjoy monsterlevel 83 Delves. I loved Delve League, especially because there's nothing new in maps. Between shaper/elder, sextant mods, Zana mods, masters, trials and the remainders of more than a dozen leagues of the past, maps are overcrowded enough for me. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

I understand the op, a lot of things like final bosses are gated behind RNG . In order to kill final bosses you need to drop high level maps first then hope the next one will drop if not you go back to shit maps.
Once you get the chance to drop an high level map you need to be lucky it drop the fragment, once you get 1 fragment you need to be lucky and drop the others. Once you have all the frag, you need to kill the boss or else back to square 1. Too much rng gated content in order to kill a final boss that the game himself is promoting as end-game from the story. When atlas was not incorporated I could understand maps and high level maps content were reserved to the lucky/addicted/rich but now that we get the shaper/elder as atlas objective given during the story line, I don t see why they are gated behind that much rng. So now most people hating slot machine gameplay will need to stay in standard as it seems it is better for them. Op you need to stay in standard as temp league will not be for you anymore. However even in standard with all the time in the world, having shit map drop and no rng is a pain and GGG should really start to give bosses from T1 to T13 100% chance to drop at least a map of same level. " There's no luck involved, guardian fragments are a garanteed drop. " I've written a couple times already in threads like this: GGG probably made a mistake calling the Zana storyline a "questline". Imagine everything about Shaper and Uber Elder was the same (way to get there, rewards, shaped maps etc), with one single exception: You don't have that message lingering at the top right of your screen, telling you to do x and y in maps. I think a lot less players would feel entitled to access this super-lategame content. There would be a lot more acceptance of the simple fact that if you cannot make it there, this content is just not for you. Compare it to Uber Atziri: that's not a "quest", it's an "encounter" or whatever. She's in the game since forever, but I rarely see anyone complain about limited access to alluring abyss. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519 Last edited by Peterlerock#5171 on Nov 28, 2018, 8:40:55 AM
