Delve is an example of why I stopped playing POE

Sorry - you lose all empathy when you illustrate how ignorant you are of the Free To Play model.

If the developers want a return customer, put more focus on casual players.

I am sick and tired of content behind placed behind arbitrary walls.

Customer..? You're a customer if you pay for a supporter pack or mtx, but that's as far as that goes. I got a pack, and a few outfits because regalia looks silly with everything, but that's all I get. I've seen no advertisement for changing the game, so that's not what you get if you choose to pay for something.

You assume my wife and I care about orbs. We play because its fun and entertaining. We work full time jobs, which are 40 - 50 hours a week.

POE use to be our stress relief, but not any more. Neither of us get enjoyment from the current game.

Go back two years before ATLAS, and POE was fun. Now it seems most of the good content it for end game players.

You realize that Maps have been in the game before it even went 1.0, they were released in 2012. The Atlas is newer but it has only made the End Game mapping system EASIER and more fun for players as it gives them more of a guided experience than the original Map system did.

And Delve is also another thing that makes the end game EASIER to get into for players. The game is much more approachable for me now and Delve is one of the best things for my play time. I can easily get a bit of sulphite, as it only takes a few minutes to get some or have it stored up from previous play sessions and then do a few delves. It allows me to actually play the game in shorter spurts and feel I get good progress and fun. The Atlas also gives me more of a sense of progress now compared to before they added it and makes the end game much more fun and approachable for someone like me who doesnt play as much as others.

As a paying customer developers should consider my feedback if they want a return customer.

Paying customer? In a FREE TO PLAY game? Are paying a subscription?

Over the past couple of years POE has gone downhill in a bad way.

Then don't play it...

For one, and the biggest, is hiding content behind silly restrictions, such as sulphite.

Show me ONE (A)RPG that does NOT do this...

Could we imagine the horror if people were allowed to play maps? The world may divide by zero and implode.

Then then level a character to mapping level and do maps...

I support the developers because I want to be entertained.

No entertainment = no money, it is that simple.

You claim you are not buying supporter packs. So you are not supporting them.
See 1st point...

As said earlier, show me ONE (A)RPG that does NOT do this... repeating points doesn't make it more valid.

Seriously. If you are so unhappy with this game... then why are you still here? Go find something else to play...

most of the good stuff is for late endgame players. that's the way it is. most things in poe have a random outcome which let's players experience some of the good stuff when theyre lucky but some stuff is just reserved for people nolifing or playing the game professionally. or pushing hard in the precious hours they play.

well, you obviously don't. i do neither.

lookup my profile, i never killed shaper although i could afford buying access and try or buy the kill like so many others do.

i think i ever killed 2 of the guardians and failed on the others as i mostly play 2h melee with average gear which makes my char fall dead on the slightest touch. never seen uber atziri...

if you can neither sink endless hours into the game or push hard cause people you play with aren't doing late endgame, just ignore it and enjoy your t12 to t14 maps.

see it the positive way, you still have goals. works for me since years.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Just checked your profile.

Your Slayer has a 6L belly and a 6L Disfavor, plus some great rare armour pieces.

His skilltree and flask setup are subpar, but still... This should easily be guardian viable.

Hey, I'll try to be as civil as I can.

As an endgame, fully geared player I am desperately looking for content I can do that isn't Uber Elder, which is just cheesy to fight. New endgame maps are not only wanted, but they're needed for the continued health of the game. You can't just think of yourself when new content releases, as it's almost always going to be geared towards the endgame progression.

Imagine if in a video game that's many years old they released an expansion that adds content to mid level places; tier 5-9 maps. Players would very quickly outgrow this content and the expansion would give nothing to experienced players, which in an old game make up the majority of the community.

In short, this game isn't for casuals and you really seem to want a hardcore game to cater to casual preference.
Grind-game != Hardcore.
...well I guess if you are putting up with the pain of mindless grinding its sort of hardcore? But that isn't the standard definition.

Did you know you can have casual hardcore games? Did your head explode?
