Delve is an example of why I stopped playing POE

Yet another ruined release by the POE developers: Requiring players to have sulphite to play the new dungeon - Delve.

the same thing happened with Atlas. We were told of a new series of maps we could play. It was not until release that my wife and I discovered Atlas was only for end game players.

Why make players jump through hoops to play the new maps? This is one reason why my wife and I no longer buy supporter packs. My wife still plays POE, but I have pretty much stopped.

I stopped playing POE because I feel the developers are playing games with the customer. There is no need to make players look for sulphite. Let us play the new maps without having to jump through hoops.

It boils down to entertainment. I will pay if I get something out of the game. When I feel the developers dangle content in front of the player, I stop buying supporter packs.

The first chance you get to delve is right outside Lioneye's Watch in Act 1.. Yeah you need sulphite, but all you do is click on the deposit and you get it automatically. No scaled boss, no mob, just click it, and there's at least one deposit in every area including maps. You also can't trade it, so no shenanigans there.. I can understand maps to a small degree, I think you should be able to skip the campaign in standard if you've already done it, but you also get some free maps during the campaign, and possibly even Sacrifice fragments from Vaal side areas, so it's not like it's difficult to get started.

Delve would probably be the worst thing not to play. It's available at start and scales to endgame level.
Delve is actually a big step in the right direction...

Poe treats content as a commodity ( Maps ). This means you can buy and sell it. The issue with this is is obvious. It creates a market of farmers that sell not just with in game currency ( this is against GGG policy but gets ignored pretty much ).

The advantage for players that do not play fair is very large.

Delve on the other hand is not a trade-able commodity. You have to mostly earn the right to play through azerite. Yes having high end maps makes it easier as well as high end gear.

Delve = Not perfect but without a doubt heading the right way.

NS

Whats really mind numbingly boring is being stuck having to grind low level content (t10-11 maps)to get azerite so you can get an hour of actual challenging game play every 2-3 hours. This more than anything generates mega burn out. Im back after 3 or so weeks of no POE.

The Azurite grind seems a far bigger issue to me.
It looks like I'll end up spending all the Delve time I've got snoring through Azurite nodes and not see anything interesting at all.
The most exciting node I've had so far is one Beyond node.
I can see one Breach node and a Chaos node. Both unconnected and way below the depth I can safely explore until I get a ton more Azurite.

why require sulphite at all?

Just another example of grinding gears dangling content in front of the consumer.

Let us play atlas from the start.

Let us play delve from the start and get rid of the sulphite.

GGG puts these silly barriers in front of their content, and that is one reason why my wife and I stopped buying supporter packs, and I stopped playing.

If you have access to every content from the 1st minute and with no required resource, where is the challenge? Where the progression? Poe would be then nothing but a mere compendium of identical mini-games just with different templates. There would be no difference between playing delve or maps. If there's no endgame (you can't call it "endgame" if you access it from the very beginning), and the few little main story it has, you want to also skip it, then where's the game? Where's the "rpg" part of this arpg?

You have 0 achievements done in the delve league so you never even tried it. Why should anyone take your feedback seriously when you are giving feedback on something you didn't even try?

The requirement TO delve is so ridiculously easy to achieve compared to other things. No rng, the sulphite you get scales with the area's level. Piddly in the start, to like 400 by the time you get to red maps. As you progress, you can do more.

Well, I think Atziri should always drop a mortal fragment, I think elder influenced maps should have a higher drop rate of connected maps specifically, but delve's barrier is absurdly thinner in comparison to those you can hardly even call it that. You get sulphite, not hope it spawns in this area like an abyss or breach etc. You delve, get some azurite, placed randomly but there's always plenty if you branch out a bit. You use it to increase your survivability, not HOPE you roll a helpful mod or stat on some gear that you'll replace later anyway.

I made a thread about skipping the campaign in standard, but it got derailed. I think it would be good to just start at level 68 with no gear, no ascendancy etc. Nothing about delve's cost needs to change. It's nice to be able to break from mapping and still be able to make progress, and it's nice that that progress, whether through leveling or currency drops, is actually tangible.

Who has more supporter packs, me or you? You have zero supporter packs listed.

At the very least I have supported the developers several times. As a paying customer I have every right to voice my opinion.
