Content is too easy? Am I just overpowered? Idk...
" I share your goal! We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

The game has become a bit of a snoozefest except for the occasional boss not working as it should.
This league I've had: Innocence shouting the wrong line before each attack. ("I am the Torch!" Okay get in close... *bullet hell balls* AAAHHHHH!!!!) Arakaali visuals being behind where the damage was happening. (Was vaguely amusing to see Silk fly into the air while Arakaali didn't move. Was not amusing to die from beams that hadn't displayed yet. (I'm frame limiting the game, its not a hardware issue.)) |

So basically you failed your hardmode and didn't do any end game content. 10/10 thread I will stay tuned for every update.

PoE has a long history of overwhelming and discouraging newer players with complexity and difficulty. If you're not affected by that, good for you. But don't make the mistake to assume you're necessarily the majority. PoE used to be a niche game that was mostly played hardcore, but that's just not the case anymore. GGG cater to a wider player base with slower understanding now, so that they can keep people playing and eventually paying for MTX.
If you want a challenge, you can play private leagues or non meta skills, or just reach the endgame for more difficult fights like Uber Elder. I was personally discouraged when I couldn't get my third character to merciless Piety and stopped playing for years. If I hadn't met someone else who was playing this, I might never have come back. I won't claim the game is difficult at low levels to anyone who knows what they're doing or happens to pick the right skill nodes and gear, but there's a good reason for it. |

" That's why complete tutorials, that should teach the new player to not disregard life/ES + defenses should exist. I'm almost 100% sure this is the main reason they can't progress. Veterans already know that. A good thing about ARPGs is failing and then discovering better ways to play, but people just seem to want it too easy now. " They can, however, include options. Only two different difficulty settings would be enough. Initial players that supported GGG in it's hardest days were hardcore gamers for the most part. People who find the game too hard, can pick the easier one. AH! But then they wouldn't feel l33t with their mindless unbalanced meta gems they picked by accident, I get it... " Well in my case I stopped playing for a long time after the awful balancing of the game becomes evident, too many things to list here, acts being braindead easy just by picking up a "meta"(aka overpowered) skill is just one of them. It's the same thing with cooldowns. Some people like them because it gives them purpose to get more than 1 ST or AoE skill and spam that all day. A lot of people complain about the spammability. Does GGG implement a OPTIONAL Gem to add cooldown and give skill benefits in return? No. It seems GGG didn't realize yet that they can give options to their players, instead of making the binary choice of trying to please only one side of the crowd. |

" Yeah that's the new way to balance modern games, you know? Make 99% of content braindead easy and just sprinkle that 1% here and there that can kill you very fast. That way uber l33t kids can feel that they are master gamers spamming their no-cooldown one-shotting AoE skills and then they get surprised by one mob that can kill them in 0.8 seconds. They die to that mob and think "Wow this game is SO hardcore!!!1!". Also, it should be standard knowledge by now but, if I have to get to endgame for content to not be braindead easy, then the balance of the game is a poor one at best. If content is braindead easy for me but hard for others that didn't pick a "meta uber l33t skillZ" then, again, the balance of the game is complete needs serious attention. |
