Noob quesiton on identifying items

New player here...

Do you have to id every item? Is it worth more if you id it then if you sell it unid? I don't have enough scrolls to id everything.... :(

You don't

Normally you should identify only the ones you think they can be valuable (rares with good implicit roll) or the ones you may need
So no price diff on unid and id. Ok thank you.

Actually... nop. There is a difference when vendoring id and unid items.

Single unid items would yield scroll fragments or transmutation shards, while identified items would give other kind of shards and orbs, depending on their mods etc.

Please check the wiki for more info: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Vendor_recipe_system#Shards_and_Fragments

But as said above, it's recommended to pick up and/or id what may be interesting, because oh boy there will be tons of loot everywhere (mostly worthless).

If all you're concerned with is vendor value, yes, they are worth more if you I'd them.

However if you're new chaos orb recipie (sell 1x helm, chest, glove, boot, belt, amulet, 2x ring, weapon to vendor) it's better to do unid as you get 2 orbs instead of one.

Also if you're worried about I'd scrolls vendor an armour whetstone to get 4x id scrolls
