I bet the reason that gargantuan amount of 72 players are ceasing to play PoE is because their characters will be wiped soon.

Yea - the upcoming huge patch is causing me to reduce my playing. Whether or not they do a "wipe" I will start a new character and probably clean out my stash.

Dave: I think you grossly overestimate your trollish presence. Far, far too many constructive posts I'm afraid. Sure, the wording can be forceful but shit, dude, that just shows conviction, which to me is the key ingredient to making statements that may just mean something. darkcrab: hi, welcome! I think some of what you're discussing has been handled by a very, very good post on the D3 boards by a fellow named 'dontinquire'. Tagek once linked to it and we discussed it quite a bit, and then another user just c/ped the lot into the off-topic board, where it was sort of ignored. Most of the rest has been addressed equally at length in other posts on here. I know it's a pain to find such posts (this is a surprisingly fast moving forum for a fairly small game), but they're in there.

I'm not too concerned about the new patch. I've been assured it's awesome, I believe it is, whether it results in a wipe or passive skill tree reset is no bother to me. It's a beta. These things happen.

I didn't say that I was a troll. Just that people seem to think I am (or at least an ass. Which, really... I am.) when I get going on certain topics - one of them being if particular game design paradigms are good, bad, etc.

I don't really have a problem with people thinking I'm an ass (If I did, I wouldn't *be* an ass), but I still know better than to stay away from certain topics.

Don't worry, I doubt I'll have the time come here after 15th of May. I'll be too busy enjoying the game you all hate so bad. I'm also sure those from the PoE fanbase who will try D3 when it comes out won't be coming back to PoE unless they are masochistic and enjoy a totaly underwhelming gaming experience while the rest of the world is having a blast with D3.

We know you will be playing D3 over POE, I probably will too, but that doesn't mean you have to bash POE in the process.

I'm with you meggiroth, it's like some people here have lost the capability to reason.

These two games are not in direct comepetition because PoE will NEVER, EVER be able to even DREAM of being half as good as D3, both in sales and in quality.


you can like one game more than another, I won't discuss that, to each his/her own, but even if you don't like a game as much you gotta be objective.

Just sayin.

you guys are in denial if you think PoE can even compare with D3, the only thing they share is the genre, the rest... d3 is leaaaaagues ahead of PoE.
