I've got a few questions about gearing that I was hoping the experienced players out there might be able to answer:
-What is the best helm for the build? The bone helmet doesn't seem to be necessarily good; the implicit can be replaced by a good lab enchant and we don't seem to care about our helmet having shaper/elder mods. Do we just want to get as high ES as possible? I understand devoto's is for clearing maps, but what would be best for something like Uber Elder? -Likewise, for content like Uber Elder, are we best off with Vis Mortis or a super-high ES chest? -Would something like Darkness Enthroned be a decent belt until we get HH? Two gems each with +45 ES, 20% minion damage, some resists, etc. seems to be a strong contender. -Speaking of jewels, do we care about minion taunt on hit, hinder on hit, etc. on our jewels? -Why do we run Rumi's and a Quartz flask? Do the bonuses apply to the spectres? We don't really seem to be scaling defenses -What's the stone golem for? Just some passive healing to counteract poison? Without Zealot's Oath it doesn't seem like it would help with ES recharge -What does having the same exact gem set-up in the weapon swap do? If you have the same gems, does it mean you don't have to recast anything? What's the purpose? Lastly, how do we level? I've never leveled a summoner so I'm wondering about the following: - Do we level with SRS until we can get fireball carpet boys? If so, do we selfcast or spell totem? - Someone recommended using orb of storms + lesser poison alongside agony crawler; is this faster for leveling? - Raise zombies? Arc? - At what level can we safely switch to spectres for clear? |

" Headhunter is a mapping only "fun" unique. it's far from necessary on any summoner Shavronnes where you aren't safe from chaos is fairly neat to prevent you from losing XP - in boss areas like uber elder where there won't be chaos damage Highest ES possible - another spectre won't help as much as anything that makes you not die. Minion Taunt on hit is INSANE on basically any summoner besides SRS(and TV because they dont hit..), hinder is neat Stone Golem liferegen helps vs poison if not wearing Shav's and allows for bloodmagic movement skills to be paid off if you happen to use them. Regarding gem setups in weapon swap: no clue. maybe just to level his gems again -> will get changed in 3.5 anyway I'd recommend leveling with Arc or SRS as spectres suck hard early on. Once you got your first ascendancies they start to get worth using i tend to swap to spectres at 50-60 ish depending on how much gear i've got- SRS is pretty damn strong especially with the leveling uniques for it |

Is animate guardian worth running? I note he has just one unset ring with a clarity - presumably for enabling the watcher's eye. Until we get one, why not run an animated guardian for the free dps boost to the spectres?

Would like to tell my opinion, after playing build for a whille:
1. I see, how it's worked for endgame content with setup, posted by OP, but imo in this league it's definetly worth it switching to Shavronne's Vestment (at least for maping), since i'm rather tired ripping to Sindicate chaos dmg (69 chaos res, looking on how fast i die extra 6% wouldn't matter at all). 2. Outside of Sindicate members, there're no real chaos dmg sources in game, so no wonders build was nearly immortal in previous league. 3. Going CI over Shavronne is doubtfull, given how much ES Presence of Chayula can add. All in all, extreme clearing speed, great single target dmg, but time from time getting riped on sindicate members. P.S. Hi, I just hit 68 on this build, feelsgoodman so far. When I look for solar guards, I can't find them. I found prayer guards, are those the same?
I will recommend after leveling this in BSC, dont use spec till you have invoker ascendancy. Then grab flame sentinels from Solaris temple. If you haven't played necro in a while, you can use desecrate to make corpses of your current specters. This will allow you to make new ones in higher level zones. |

" I'm having a similar experience. All content seems to be fine except for these damn syndicate jabronis. Gearing wise, is the best move to have both 6L shavs for content clearing and a high ES base for stuff like uber elder? I'm currently working on 6 linking my Vis Mortis but now I'm not sure if it's even worth it at this point. Additionally, is it always worth runnign presence of chayula for both these setups? Also, any reason to run the vaal haste? I basically ran out of slots (except "move" which I might rebind to scorching ray), so it's contending with flame dash right now. The fact that vaal haste fights with vaal discipline makes me want to drop it since charge generation is so much slower for them. So far the build has been a blast; I just wish I had more currency to fossil craft some better gear |
