POE 4.0.0 confirmed let's speculate
4.0 will be the big clean-up patch:
- rare loot will be relevant and not just a source of chaos orbs, even blue loot will be looked for. - hc will rise again becouse the the damage spikes and the gaming speed will be paved. - leveling will be the main game and not just a time investment you have to grind down befor the game starts. - finding uniques will be satisfying and not just a hand full of alch chards. - you have to look for enemy mods and change your gear for different bosses - they remove trollmods from rare loot table - they make currency craftig a main source of gear, but not just for 0,01% of the playerbase - ohh, and they balance 'aoe/single target' and 'melee/reach' or they give us some buffs and some new optics for stuff. "don't worry GGG, it's ok!"

GGG will do some clever gear mod reversal in relation to the number of sockets on an item. What this means is total number of mods will be 8 - (number of sockets), +1 if it's a magic item, and +2 for normal items. This works out to:
1 socket = 7 mods 2 socket = 6 mods 3 socket = 5 mods 4 socket = 4 mods 5 socket = 3 mods 6 socket = 2 mods This will force us to make some real gear choices, do I go for more sockets and fewer stats or fewer sockets and more stats. The +1 mod for blue items and +2 mods for white items will give more value to magic and normal items so that they may actually be useful. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

4.0 will contain updated character models end revised world zones of older acts and sub zones with some other DX11/12 goodies.
Other than that maybe a new weapon class (or at least heavily reworked old one like wands or 2h weapons), more keybinds,improved readability of enemy nameplates/ health bars & status effects. The same for players(if affected by enemy status effects/etc). The big content would be new world zone(s): Azmeri related probably. But not sure in which timeline. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

" A bit too much penalty there, but I like the idea. I'd suggest however a -1 tier to a mod for each socket. Thus a six socket item might still have 6 mods, but wouldn't be T1 on all of them. It would max out at 6xT2 or a few T1s and T3s to cover the penalty. |
