Atziri's Mirror, what is the point?

It reflects in exactly the same sense as reflected damage. "reflect" is used in the game to specify that you apply (some percentage of) something which happens to you to the entity htat caused it.

Sorry but it's not intuitive at all in case of the shield.

That is unfortunate. If this actually granted curse immunity it would be a good item. As it stands it is useless.
imagine elemental weakness reflect on a elemental damage reflect necro with that shield, ouch!!!
R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E.
When I have first seen the item I have also assumed that it would give immunity to curses while reflecting them back.

I haven't considered that they might even overwrite the curses you cast. That sucks, but it's not unreasonable.

Still Mark, in truth, the shield is shit. And even if it wasn't shit, the tooltip is still misleading. Reflect means you give it straight back to the enemy in videogames.

Well then you're using the word wrong in both cases, don't you think?

It needs to be reworded then, the combination of "Curse Reflection" and it being a shield makes it less intuitive.

Maybe "Curses Mirrored" or something to that effect.
Can you at least understand how misleading this is specifically because it's a "mirrored" shield? The whole notion comes from the story of Persues vs. Medusa, wherein Perseus and Medusa do not both get turned into stone. The idea that this reflection should protect the wearer is absolutely implied. If it's going to steal from this widely known lore and not protect against anything than it should definitely be clear about that in the tooltip.

As far as the functionality, It serves absolutely no purpose because the "reflected" curse shares the curse limit and overwrites anything you intend to be using. If I were to pvp against a fire mage using flamability when I'm trying to deal physical damage, I really don't want to be reflecting flamability and overwriting my vulnerability. It just gives my opponent a free method of getting the curse that actually threatens him off for free. Now if it protected me from that flammability it would be a fair trade. I would lose control over the curse the oponent has by his ability to bounce something harmless off me, but I at least wouldn't have to worry about his curses. As it is, it just gives control over the curses affecting both of us to the opponent. It's absolute garbage in it's current incarnation and needs to be changed. Especially since it's the ultimate reward from the entire race season.. to do all that work and get an item so terrible..

Wait? "Reflect" in PoE does not mean reflect in the generic videogame sense?

Gah. And that shield looked so awesome before I knew this.

Pfft, there goes the money I thought I might get from my quality Punishment.

Haha, oh well.

I do wish GGG would reconsider using the term "reflect" in this way, as it does seem rather counter-intuitive. How about "share" instead?
/popcorn always, because people
I agree, the term "reflect" in.. every other game I have played.. means that it takes effect X applied to the player and places it instead on whatever mob cast it.
