Atziri's Mirror, what is the point?
So, I plan my whole build around this unique thinking "Curses suck. It would be a worthwhile sacrifice to use Atziri's Mirror despite the poor stats if it can protect me from curses". But it doesn't.. at all.. it just gives it to the enemy as well. I find this out 70 levels later.
If a curse immune creature casts temporal chains on me while I'm wearing the "curse reflect" shield, -I- still get cursed, and it does not... what on earth is the f#$%%ing point of this unique. It doesn't protect you from curses, at all, and the curse duplicating to the enemy (I refuse to call what this piece of shit does reflection) can overwrite the curse you actually need applied to the enemy, making it MORE difficult to kill them. Perseus would be a god damned statue if he had depended on this useless troll ass shield. I have never loved and hated a game more at the same time before. Last bumped on Jun 13, 2016, 5:27:54 AM

Yeah, at least the shield should make the wearer immune to curses if it works this way.
If it works like you said... its useless. |

Thanks for the heads up. I planned on grabbing this at some point just for extra tech. Sorry you had to plan your whole build around it to find out though :(

probably would have been easier for you if you asked beforehand how the shield works...and i agree its pretty badly worded and designed unique, very misleading, i know because i intended to buy one in closed beta when it was introduced, thankfully a friend warned me that it works this way and i didnt waste any currency on it.

" You should read in more detail. Reflect = Bounced back. As in: NOT affecting the user with the shield. If it said: If a curse affects the user and is cast by an enemy, the caster of the curse is also affected equally. Then you would be right. Ya, I don't get it either. They added this with the PVP patch or shortly after so naturally we all thought person casting got the curse back in their face and we laughed while immune to their curse attempts. Instead everyone got curse and no one used the shield for PVP anymore, just got warding flasks.

if it did actually reflect it might actually be used.

This seems to be a pretty common misunderstanding, I also thought "reflect" would mean "enemy gets curse instead of yourself" rather than "enemy gets curse in addition to yourself", and several other people I've talked to had the same idea.
It ought to say something like "Curses cast on you also affect the caster". Last edited by ptt_frmr#5341 on Mar 5, 2013, 10:23:19 AM
