Where the hell are all the red maps?
" No need to inform players that you want more than 1 anymore. Go to bulk item exchange instead.[/quote] Alternate of 1-10 or shaped 1-5 is zana 7, looking at it now. Shaped 6-10 is lvl8. Unless its bugged |

I am level 98 with 6 bars in SSF currently and everything the threadstarter posted really also counts for me.
I watched the very good martypoe video and used all his tricks consequently and without exceptions, i always run unid red maps when there is an unid sextant mod and bloodlines map with magic monster sextant, ambush with strongbox sextant and so on, I use chisels all the time and if I cant chisel red maps I run yellow maps until I have enough chisels and sextants. I even fucking managed to trigger the monstrous treasure prophecy on a red map with strongbox sextant mod and 100+ IIQ. Here I am, the result after all this: 30 red maps in my stash, they would all be gone in 5 hours probably if I lose my nerves on this shit. Absolutely ridiculous after all the stuff I have done. But yea, shaped gorge and haunted mansion, here I come, they still give somewhat xp x) Last edited by The_Human_Tornado#7752 on Oct 5, 2018, 7:23:11 PM

I've been running my maps in batches to evaluate map drops in an effort to work out what I need to do to have sufficient map drops to sustain at least my current tier.
So, for instance, I'll put 5 maps in my inventory, run all five maps at once and then see how many maps I get from running those 5 maps. Very, very very rarely do I end up with as many similar tier maps as what I started with. (similar = start tier, plus or minus 1, so if running t10, similar = t9-t11) I mostly upgrade them using alchemy orbs. If I'm out of alchemy orbs, sometimes I'll use an orb of transmute and then regal them. I've mostly stopped doing the transmute/regal as I have found those maps tend to not return any maps at all. Not even low tier maps. I've also tried comparing the difference between maps raised to 20% quality versus just using an alchemy orb on a zero quality map. From my experience, it seems I get a worse return on the "improved" maps than the unimproved. I know this is against any logic, because higher quality is supposed to mean higher return but that is not my experience. My experience is that t10 improved maps will give me more t1, t2 and t6 maps - which are totally useless, but fewer similar tier maps than unimproved maps. I estimate that I have spent around 250 chaos orbs on maps so far - and that is only for tiers 8, 9 and 10, and not including purchases from Zana. I buy maps in bulk so I don't have to continually buy them, but even with buying so many maps, I'm barely able to sustain enough maps to keep running similar tiers, let alone progress. My Zana is level 7, and usually the highest tier she offers me is 8 or 9 and usually only 1 map that's currently useful if I am lucky. I think there is something drastically skewed with RNG as far as map drops Some people have an abundance of maps to sell, while others are struggling to simply maintain their current level. Some people seem to have such an abundance of maps falling, that they have absolutely no comprehension that some people just don't get enough map drops to sustain their current level, let alone progress. In addition to buying maps, I have also been making use of the "shaped maps" option on the map device to raise the maps by 5 levels. This is great until the chaos runs out, but based on my experience isn't sustainable for maintaining ongoing T10 runs, let alone progressing. Since only maps up to level 5 can be upgraded by 5 levels, this doesn't allow for progressing to T11 maps. I think a same tier map should drop when the "less than 50 monsters left" threshold is met. RNG that allows some people to have an abundance of maps to sell, while others can't even maintain their current tier is awful for those who don't get the abundant drops. (and then get told by others - I get plenty of maps, I don't see your problem). Personally, I'd rather see RNG totally taken out of the map drop equation - like Diablo. Run a lesser rift, and you are guaranteed a token to run a greater rift. Maybe an addition to the epilogue for each tier that rewards a map of that tier when you complete it. |

" Rofl that was lucky lol " No they are not. Especially if you Delve, delve can give you a lot of maps. " Why are you not using fossils on your maps ? Are you not delving ? If you are not delving, you are putting yourself at a handicap regarding maps this league. It's not mandatory I guess, but it helps a lot. " Because this is not just "luck". SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Oct 6, 2018, 2:31:53 AM

"Yes, it is good RNG seed, a lot of trading and more time spend playing than many countries laws allow to spend working. Organic chemistry is a weird thing. If you add a spoon of shit to a barrel of jam you'll get a barrel of shit.

" Riiiight, and you have always had "bad RNG seed" I bet haha. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I never said I was getting windfall of maps.
I said it could give you lots of maps. Which evens on the long run for sure. If your experience is one outpost, then it's a small sample anda you might have gotten some 'unlucky' chests. I think I've seen 5 vaal outposts, one abyss city biome and one primeval ruins ( no boss unfortunately ). Outposts or map nodes also can give you sextants/horizon orbs/harbinger orbs/chisels which are really, really good. It's not just maps. It's much easier to reroll maps with fossils and 1s resonators this league too, but you have barely broken any walls so I don't expect you have many of them. " my experience is not "one outpost'. my experience is that i've yet to get a T10 map from the outposts i have done and that the only T10 map i've gotten from devles wasn't even from an outpost - it was from an azurite node. shame on you - don't misquote to make a statement that isn't true, that's nasty. you may not have said directly that you had a "windfall" of maps, but the general tone of your posts is that those who aren't getting maps aren't getting them coz they're not doing the right things. that strongly suggests you know and are doing the right things. quote "Because this is not just "luck"." do fossils allow you to reroll maps to different tiers? afaik all you can do is change the mods. unless fossils can change maps to higher tiers, your comment about fossils is totally irrelevant. i'm thinking you're a troll and i shouldn't entertain you any further. if not, please keep on track - we're talking about how to get tier appropriate maps to drop. not fossils and not how many walls i have broken down, unless you can explain how that actually relates to getting tier appropriate map drops then i am all ears. |

And those outposts were all in lvl 78+ nodes ?
" It's never just 'luck' in general. But it all evens out on the long run if you are doing it 'right', with good streaks and bad streaks on the way usually. " No it's not, fossils allow you to pretty much not spend any alch/chaos on maps (well, if you are aiming for good rolls in high tiers, you might need to sink some chaos I guess, not sure). You can then spend those chaos orbs that you saved with Zana to increase your map's returns. (Or if you are in trade leagues, you might even just buy some maps when you need of course) SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
