I don't understand sulphite cap.

Hate to ruin it for you, there is a hardcap:

I leave it to you to grind it out what it means to go 1 above the cap.

Yeah, no matter if we have a cap or not, you still have to map as much as you did before. The only thing a cap does, is forcing you to vary more often. I understand that people want to delve; it's new. But I don't get all the whining. Seriously. We've played countless leagues where mapping has been more or less the only thing to do late end game. Hell, maps have always been the end game. Most, if not all, league mechanics have forced you to map. Delve isn't any different.

At least we have an alternative now. A very good alternative, IMO. But there will always be a certain part of the community that screams "it's not enough! I WANT MORE", no matter what they implement or how they implement it.

Mapping isn't any worse than it was last league. Hell, with the new Zana mods it's a lot better. But suddenly, mapping is the big, bad wolf. Because you have to do it? Like all the other leagues?

I'm sure GGG have a reason behind the cap. Player retention. The economy. Longevity. Whatever. I like delving. I still like mapping. I love the league.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I agree with everything you said except the "alternative" part. I think the word "alternative" is at the core of some folks disappointment. They failed to manage their expectations and thought this would be an alternative to mapping; which it was never advertised as. To be fair to them though, it was advertised as an infinite dungeon which is true from a literal sense but completely missed the spirit of an infinite dungeon.

What delves brings to the table is a complement to mapping, providing an equal (if not more) lucrative partner to mapping. It serves as something to break the monotony of mapping, not replace it. The irony is that if delves were infinite, mapping would be viewed as the alternative to delving to break the monotony. It's new and shiney. That luster would/will fade.
Thanks for all the fish!

Correct, and I agree. I was about to include a segment about expectations in the post you quoted, but I struggled to not sound like a douche, as I believe that if someone expected Delve to be "a new end game" without connection/dependency to maps, they've been sleeping in class since leagues became a thing.

The thing is, Delve lets you do way content than any other league outside of mapping. Suddenly, you're "forced to map", as if you've never been forced to it before. There's something strange about people's interpretation here. And you're probably right, it's all about expectations. I'm going to end this post with a quote from my late teacher several years back when I studied sociology:

"
Where do we draw the line between adapting to the world and demanding that the world adapts to us?
