Explain me please, Delve mods get 6% pen to 12% global pen while others areas don t contain any pen.

the boss spawning with % global pen do not care about 100% cold to to fire items but you can still get around it with global avoiding mods.

The delve mods penetrating elemental resistances .... penetrate all elemental resistances, not just one type.

There is no "one type" of elemental penetration as a delve mod, which is what I_NO was making a reference to.


It's pretty much a -max all elemental res, as MrsDeath just said.
So there is no point in converting it to another elemental to try avoiding the penetration (unless it's with using Incandescent heart of course.)

I don't see penetration in Aul's poedb's stats anywhere either.

When i go to aul i am not seeing any mods on the right side where they usually are. Is this a bug or could it be possible that since he is in his own arena like elder guardians mods don't affect him?

I get you, but You did not get what I wanted to say. The 100% conversion taliman was not meant to be an example of how to counter Aul at high level and was a broad example to show how it is possible to counter penetration of an element in the game.

12% global penetration is in effect penetrating all res that s what I was saying too.

However I don t agree with your last point.
If you convert 50% cold to fire for example and use GLitterdisk 25% chance to avoid elemental damage + 15% avoid elemental damage from aspect of cat + 10% avoid fire damage on chest you get 50% avoid fire

20% avoid cold damage from aquamarine + flask effect from pathfinder+cat aspect on top of that would give you around 40% chance to avoid cold too .

How do you use a bow + a shield though ?

I mean, it's nice to theorycraft and all, but if you need to gimp your character an all to try to ignore half of Aul's damage and end up having let's say ... less dps and less buffer, if the AOE hits you and you don't avoid it with your specialized stuff, changes are you're more likely dead than before, and if you deal less damage, then it might just happen more during the fight.

Using aqua marine and the aspect of the cat (didnt really play much in Bestiary, I don't know well), then yeah that's fair enough, it's probably a good thing to do.
I'd rather use a Sapphire flask I think though, or both.

Indeed I was kind of adding together all possible items with avoidance to make a point and it is unrealistic for most of players as some are very expensive and other are very rare in league. I don t doubt thsoe items can be gathered together by players like I-no for example but would be complicated for the average joe.

Cat+aquamarine+flask effect from pathfinder+avoid projectile pantheon+crafted chest/shield is the most realistic combination you would get as of now for every players you are right about that too.

gladiators can facetank aul. i did a few times with only 76 cold res (no conversion, no purity, solo)
