Aul the crystal king. This boss needs tuning.

I have killed three separate Aul spawns, each of which did not have a map mod affecting them. Each of these spawns has been FAR deeper than the current one I am trying to beat. This spawn is at depth 287 the fight is absolutely impossible due to two things

-Damage PENETRATES 12% resists
-Monsters AND Aul do 106% extra damage as fire.

I have had his health bar literal milimeters from killing him more than 10 times now. I have fought this boss over 150+ times, I know the mechanics like the back of my hand. It feels almost too RNG to be believable, he simply one shots you, either it happens at the start or right at the very end, it can be a normal attack, it can be he clipped you with a the edge of his AoE, it can be an ice shard simply touches you.

I cannot understand how this boss got through playtesting into the live game. For the majority of players this boss is completely impossible and even for some of the most elite players, simply because he has bad map mods you cannot do it.

I have overcapped resists, a sapphire flask, 8.4k health, fortify, TWO cast when damage taken immortal calls, NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE. It's simply that he hits you with damage far exceeding 10k+ in ONE action, he can do this with NORMAL ATTACKS.

I'm done for this league, Delve is probably the best idea I have ever heard coming from the doors of GGG development but the execution is that of a lazy teenager being asked to wash the car. All the effort exists but the polish is complete crap. It pains me to say it but I fear GGG will take bad reception as reasons to simply remove this stuff from the game entirely.

Delve bosses should not be affected by map mods. Period. It's a god damn joke, whoever thought up the challenges never plays Path of Exile. I would wager they can't even drop shaper if they think this is a sane reality for all players. It's not so much a challenge as a straight up lottery. Some players will get boss spawns with even WORSE mods than the ones I've mentioned..... it's RNG inside RNG inside RNG inside even more RNG..... Do you not get the message that players don't want this? It's all we've been screaming at you for the past four leagues.... yet it's still making it's way into the main game like a horrible cancer.. I hope to god you actually wake up to this when providing more content in future.

I agree, Aul is insaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanely strong with a few map mods. I died to him once and then decided to not waste my sulphite on it since I disliked farming it so much that I quit.
I had + elemental damage + crit and it blasted 11K HP literally in 0.1s without any windup time.

After servicing aul to 5 people my take on this would be;
he isnt that hard and his attacks are easy to avade/survive with least amount of leech/regen.
The part of the fight i would like to see change is dmg immunity parts. these parts of battle takes too long and just bores me.

I agree, his mechanics aren't that hard, he has many attacks with very obvious windup's, as I've said. I have killed him solo on three separate occasions all on maps without mods. All on depths 350+ 400+ The specific fight I am speaking about is influenced by the RNG mechanics of maps. It doesn't matter if you have a fat bag of regen if he penetrates through your resistances, e.g. Penetration being he ignores overcapped resists and hits through 12% of 75% + 106% extra damage as fire. A friend of mine tried it yesterday with a 60+ exalt RF Juggernaut and he got instantly one shotted. I would wager your build would have exactly the same reaction. Even if you know this fight well it still doesn't change the reality. This boss is far too overtuned, he already has more health than shaper and Uber Elder both of which I have dropped several times this league with ease compared to the level of frustration I've felt from this one fight. At least in the circumstances of Shaper/Uber Elder/Uber Atziri you actually get portal's to go back and try again, with Aul this is simply not the case.

oh yea about rng map mods;
i think no delve boss should be affected by biome mods. some mods are too crazy to deal with.

Aul is extremely painful EASILY the hardest boss they've EVER made no question not because of his mechanics. The mechanics are a joke like a 5 man boss off an mmo it's literally cause he HITS LIKE 50 TRUCKS. map mobs shouldn't affect bosses and I'm saying that as a most of the time git gud elitist person it's stupid.


I did all challenges myself legit I'm fucking amazing /hops around thankfully path finder carrying me if I wasn't a PF probably wouldn't even have them.

SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
