Gucci Hobo run. Efficient place to find a unique?

Honestly the best way to get uniques early is probably to rush normal lab and do dark shrine runs until you get Izaro drops an additional unique...

Once you get a unique, get off the beach, kill brutus, kill merveil, kill piety, and kill dominus that is lol.

no big deal...

:D

Yes, play with normal found gear, get the Oni, then get the hell off the beach and play through the acts to get other unique gear (definitely better).

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

Arrowneus is correct - You would NEVER be able to kill UH bare-handed.
I killed him last week on my alt account as Templar Glacial Hammer and it was close to not completing as he chased me all the way to the spawn point.
Once he enrages at 50% kiss your Gucci Hobo ass goodbye.

When I farmed my Oni back when it was easier, I got a few other uniques before Hillock. So you don't necessarily have to kill him with your bare hands.

I watched the linked videos (and thank god I didn't have to watch 24 hours uncut on stream before the first unique), but one thing he did was farming unique enemies. The first unique he dropped was also from one (the first he got was chanced though).

Find an isolated (or isolatable) unique enemy close to a zone reset and farm until you get a drop.

If you have silver coins, there are three prophecies that reward uniques with sockets in act 1. Farming the coins won't be much faster than the rest, but at least it's a better chance to get the right prophecy than to randomly drop a unique. I would farm at least 8 coins to lock other prophecies though. You can also alt strongboxes to contain coins.

I'm assuming you're already using the chance recipe.
