Do NVIDIA Users Get Frame Drops in Large Battles with 6 people?

+1

I am very interested in seeing this addressed as well. As others have listed above me I can also run much more visually stunning games with minimal effort from my machine, but for some reason cold arrow and gmp brings my system to its knees.

Actually, SLi users are NOT exempt.

I'm running 2x NVidia GTX 560 Si, and even with that massive video memory, I still experience drops in FPS, from 70 to 20 or less, when in a full 6 man party, with a lightning arrow archer and a summoner or two.

You do realize that you don't add the VRAM of both video cards together when they are operating in SLI/Crossfire mode right? That's not how that technology works I'm afraid to say.

just thought I'd help you realize a mistaken assumption of yours.
Computer specifications:
Windows 10 Pro x64 | AMD Ryzen 5800X3D | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | 32GB 3600MHz RAM | MSI Geforce 1070Ti Gamer | Corsair AX 760watt PSU | Samsung 860 Pro 512GB SSD & Crucial MX 500 4TB SSD's
Well i am running a 2gb 7850 overclocked to hell and back

In 6 party groups especially on the docks the spell effects of certain spells drop my fps from 60 (vsynced) to about 20. Once the spells stop its back to perfect performance. No matter who is on the screen. There could be like 100 minions on the screen no lag. Its just when the spell effects are going off.

When i play solo i have no issues at all. No matter what i change in the settings its still 60 FPS all the time.

I was considering going out and upgrading to a 660 Ti card but if others are getting the same kind of lag on Nvidia cards or only just 10 frames less drops during the 6 party member spam fest, then its not even worth dropping 300 for a new card.

This basically just tells me there is a serious coding issue with the particle effects.

GGG please fix it. I quit games because of poor optimization. I dont want to leave this one, but i honestly will if you cant figure it out. There is no reason at all these high end computers and cards should not be able to run this game. Period. Its unacceptable.
Geforce 670 with i5 2500k at 4ghz here, fps drop to 20-40fps during lightning arrow/strike spam with full group.

Thats pretty much what i get too. I have a better processor than you, but your GFX card is better than mine. If Nvidia users are having this same issue then there is no point in me wasting money switching over to Nvidia from Radeon at the moment.
Nvidia cards suffer from the same issue, to a lesser extent.

Ran merciless docks yesterday, in a party of 6 ppl including a witch and a summoner.

Summons were quite fine fps wise, but what really dropped the frame rate was the witch casting fireball + greater multiple projectiles + chain. That was the fps killer.

Even off screen, my frame rate was affected by his spells.

Everyone in the party was complaining about it.

Particle spells need to be looked at closely, unless GGG want players to be looking elsewhere.

Good to hear. And i agree. Its the 6 groups of rangers on the docks spamming LA that kills my FPS. Drops it from 60 constant down to about 20-30. Looks more like 2 - 3 FPS tho. Its horrible and makes me hate playing in groups.
