Delve crafting is completely useless.

While unlike essences (where they give a for sure modifier every time), they allow you to specify mods by blocking as well as selecting more of a theme that you might want.

I don't see a reason to get excited over "the item you roll has less chance to be crap". Even after using the fossil for "higher level mods" (or whatever) the results I got were just random chaos orb results. At least with essences 1 mod is sure to be exactly as the essence states it will be.

An alchemy orb does exactly what it says it does. I know its value and I can trade it. The fossils do things that I have 0 patience to learn over hours of fruitless attempts at RNG. No attack mods? Well OK. Whatever that means. More fire mods? Like the life regen, 1-5 lightning damage and 10% lightning resistance I just rolled? OK. At least for map mods I don't really care what gets rolled.

The fossil you mention with higher level mods is a luxury one for higher tier crafting with a least 3 socket, if not 4 socket crafts.

Essences may give you that one mod and there is value in that especially if you dont need res or a theme on an item, but then you could probably just buy something instead of using an essence.

Sure an alch does what it says it does and maybe it holds some trade value, but there isn't any other real sinks for them other then alching maps. You could I guess alch strongboxes or something?

As for not wanting to learn thats understandable, even for me I need to check, then double check to make sure they do what I want them to. But poedb site has a tool that allows you to check the fossils and see what mods disappear if you use them. I think blocking mods out is the strongest aspect of them, with a small bonus to getting some cool new mods potentially.

Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF.

I am more than happy to use the 4687354 fossils of the types that I do not need on maps.

SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

You could simply use them on rings or amulets in high level maps, you could use them to effectively chaos spam something like a belt.

Or sell your fossils, on average they should be worth as much, if not more then the alch you are using them for. Bulk listing is a thing for both the official site and poe.trade.

Belt slot already taken, some fossils increase the odds of spawning something that I do not want -> worth than alch for jwrly.

Id rather use them .... for maps :)
I always get more anyway.
And SSF

As with all PoE crafting, you need a full stash of currency before going for it.
Organic chemistry is a weird thing. If you add a spoon of shit to a barrel of jam you'll get a barrel of shit.

See how that Fossil says "More Chaos modifiers" as in "your chance to roll these modifiers is higher" instead of "YOU'LL DEFINITELY GET A CHAOS MODIFIER"?

actually no.. It says you get MORE. So if you were supposed to get 0 modifiers, this fossil will get you MORE than that. Such is the wording. What's more than 0 you say? well you can start with 1. There is no multiplication in this. Now if it said you have an increased chance of getting a chaos modifier it would be all good if you didn't get one, because even with a 99% chance there's still 1% chance to fail. But if it states that you WILL get MORE, you simply should get MORE and definately not 0, cause that's not more than 0. English is hard, even for mediocre game developers.
