Has POE peaked?
I've been watching the steamchart stats https://steamcharts.com/app/238960 and it seems like POE just won't beat the august 2017 peak of 97k. In fact, the league after showed a huge decrease in concurrent players. Did Chris see this data and panic sell his company to China? I think it might be why. The game has peaked and we'll only see mediocre to lame updates from now on.
It's to be expected tbh. No whale lives forever. 'Tis the cycle of life. Last edited by IMSilver#3016 on Sep 3, 2018, 5:22:36 AM Last bumped on Sep 3, 2018, 3:17:49 PM

It feels like they've lost their dev team and had to hire amateurs who work for food. Every update just makes the game worse and worse.
Organic chemistry is a weird thing. If you add a spoon of shit to a barrel of jam you'll get a barrel of shit.

Yes. It will be dead by the end of the year. R.I.P.

Without a graph for non steam players .... it only says less players are coming from steam.

You're calling Delve a "mediocre to lame update"? I have to admit I missed 3.0-3.2 entirely and most of 3.3, but out of the leagues I've seen Delve is the best one yet.

Nope. I bet 4.0 will beat 3.0. You can't compare a single random league to an expansion that added 6 acts. Plus look at the curves, they lost a ton of players fast compared to incursion which almost met that peak.
You sound salty BTW. Last edited by FrodoFraggins#7603 on Sep 3, 2018, 5:56:05 AM

I would say delve is a bit ABOVE MEDIOCRE though still quite gimmicky like bestiary...
FIRST it gets in the way of levelling a bit TOO MUCH and if you just skip it till you clear act10 you AUTOMATICALLY get like 60 free delve levels... So might as well save time and SKIP IT anyway, rushing to endgame like USUAL. SECONDLY... Might as well just farm MAPS in endgame and work on your ATLAS (a pretty GUD update). All-in-all... Delve is kind of like an Atlas wannabe with more gimmicks that can be skipped. |

Until something better comes along, PoE will keep on rolling. Currently there's nothing on the horizon that could really threaten PoE in terms of immersion and replayability.
A game does not need to keep peaking to stay in existence. Just look at games like WoW, StarCraft or even Diablo 2. |

" Delve is an infinite dungeon system that many have asked for. I enjoy it much more than trying to buy maps and navigate the shaper/elder influence on the atlas. I expect it, or something like it, to become permanent at some point. It also provides a nice break from endless map runs. |
