Exactly. When it was 600 damage per second it was a lot more difficult to deal with, so you circumvented it by playing Traps (and let's be honest, that's really dumb).

Well I had my fun with them. Not using two wands means you're not stuck with Lightning Warp as your best mobility option, so it's a bit liberating to just drop the things. Sure shield charge got nerfed (at least with Brightbeak? We'll see overall), but even in a 4-link Lightning Warp is pretty trash, though I guess it's a little bit faster now (-15% cast time =/).

Every uniques had their time, shimmeron is just that kind of item that have short life-span. Now it probably will rot again in vendor tier uniques, or you want to hassle with the degen. Probably still able to work for arc trap, and still will be best in slot wand for arc-trap damage wise as not even mirror tier wand can beat double shimmeron. The problem is, whether the degen is stacked with every crits, or the duration refreshed. If the degen stacked with each other each time you deal crits, then go f yourself by using shimmeron lol. 6pc + 4 traps crit = you are screwed so hard boi. If so then the gameplay will be clunky as f as you only throw trap once, then run around not doing any damage, avoiding damage, and waiting for the degen to stops. Your MoM, regen, and tinkerskin health gain will not saves you, and your flasks will run out eventually and you'd be dead when you did a slightest mistake by taking damage. Also, tinkerskin become inferior option as loreweave will be the perfect chest for dealing with shimmeron degen.

But hey, at least shimmeron's life is not shorter than vinktar omegalul.

While Shimmeron might have become "vendor trash" (according to some people), Hopeshredder looks REALLY powerful now.
