Conor Daly loses Lilly Diabetes sponsorship over remark his father made over 30 years ago
While we're on this subject of black people not mattering, Scrotie...
Would you say that, perhaps, a society which was initially built on the bones of one of the most brutally repressive slavery regimes in (relatively) recent history, and which still shows very clear signs of its collective societal overmind being influenced by those bones, should perhaps enact policies designed as much to ensure no one forgets that inherent bias in the system as anything else? Modern Twat-ter "culture" of holding individuals responsible for any random dirt they can find in the distant past, with "dirt" being any remotely off-color or irritable remark that would've been utterly banal ten years ago isn't really the same as attempting to fight endemic, baked-into-the-system racism and racial bias. Reparations for slavery are, perhaps, a weird thing in a day and age when no living individual can remember a relative who wore a slave collar, but the whole alt-right thing of "nobody's owed ANYTHING anymore, there's no more bias except the one against WHITE PEOPLE!" is kinda insultingly disingenuous. Talk to a black person about the matter for ten minutes and they'll tell you - no, that racial bias is not gone. One of my best buddies is black; he's told me he's had the police stop him multiple times in his own neighborhood for driving a nice car and living in a nice place. They just assumed he'd stolen the car, or was otherwise casing the place as a criminal. One of my brother's favorite (for a given definition of 'favorite) stories from his time in California was the time he and four black buddies of his were heading out to a public event somewhere. he said to them "Yo - if we get pulled over, let me do the talking, okay?" My brother being the whitest white guy you've ever dun seen, and these guys all being very black black folks. They all looked at him and said "You know, that's racist as fuck. On the other hand, we wanna live. ...all right, you've got point if we gotta deal with the fuzz." Really says something, doesn't it? I know you hate the entire idea of identity as a thing, but we're not at the point yet where we can drop identitarian protections from the lawbooks. ...but yeah. Fuck Twitter and social media in general, shit like this is ridiculous and needs to stop. Nobody cared what this guy's dad said before he was born, and Twatter weaponizing people's ancient words like this is doing nobody at all any favors. She/Her

"Such a society should not enact such policies, because people should, by and large, forget. Let me give you an example of persecution overcome: the persecution of lefties. No, not politically left people, but lefthanders. In the Middle Ages, left-handedness was seen as a sign of Satan's influence. Most of the stories you've heard of barbaric witch trials, with people forced into insane tests to demonstrate innocence, burning to death at the stake — mostly persecution of lefthanders. Before the Christian persecution of southpaws, the word "sinister" literally meant, simply, left-handed; an era of persecution warped the word to its current meaning. It's hard to know how many left-handed were slaughtered at the hands of mobs of right-handers, but the short answer is: a lot. But now, almost everyone is completely oblivious to the historical evidence, and prejudice against lefthanders is virtually nonexistent. Most people don't even notice if others around them are right-handed or not — something an observant person in the inquisitors' times would be keen to notice. Could you imagine this kind of peace if CNN reminded lefthanders every news cycle that their kind were mercilessly burnt to cinders by bigoted righthanders, complete with images of the flames? Do you think we'd have moved on if "sinister" was singled out as politically-incorrect hate-speech, spoke of euphemistically as the S-word, and any righthander who dared utter it would be hounded by a digital outrage mob until fired? What if righthanded wiccans were found by the court of public opinion to be guilty of cultural appropriation? Do we really need a Lefthander History Month to annually remind lefties how persecuted they were, just in case they'd gone eleven months without reliving the pain of their ancestral past? Can't you tell when war is being sold to you? Look, I'm not saying we need to 1984-memory-hole any of this stuff — it's not like we can't research the horrible things right-handers did to left-handers — but a huge part of moving on from trauma is shutting the fuck up about it. I want a society where the vast majority of both black and white children grow up completely unaware that one group's ancestors held the other's ancestors in shackles, and only tiny numbers of historical bookworms point out that such things ever happened — not as a point of collective guilt or reparation-seeking, but as a point of trivia, a sign of not really how evil but of how hilariously stupid our ancestors were about such things. I want a future where anyone who tried to sell a war between whites and blacks, using historically accurate facts, would have his words drowned in mocking laughter. Fuck Black History Month. It's about pouring salt in the wounds. Facts aren't some magical panacea that solves all problems. What we need is peace, and you won't find that looking backwards. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " The arab slavery was much more brutal then the american one, slaves were better of going to the states then to an arab country. Slaves were actulay treated relatively well in the states(well besides them being slaves that is),this was done not out of altruism btw slaves had vallue and there was always fear of slave revolts. Ofc horrible treatement and killings and rapes etc. still occured but this was certainly not the norm no matter how much leftists want it to be. Also the us wasn't built on the back of slaves alone white ppl had to work just as hard in those times and contibuted a lot more to the country then the slaves. Not saying that slaves werent an important economic factor but ppl just love to exaggerate this way to much. [Removed by Support] Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” Last edited by jackof8lades#6863 on Aug 27, 2018, 5:34:28 PM

I am a black man from French islands. My family came there also since slavery took place. I won t forgive the white men of that time doing what they did but I won t also accuse the white men of our time for things their fathers did. The middle east slavery ring was more developed than the european one and started way sooner. Still today middle east countries are using slaves from Africa, taking their papers once they work there and using them like they are nothing.
My ancestors also lived from slave commerce often selling enemies tribesmen to the arabs and late europeans. As such I feel the white men did not do anything special that other nations and races did toward the black men. I am not american so I don t know the deep problems of black men in the US but they sure seems to keep grudges they should put behind already. I would like also to comment on racial bias... Maybe you think we are some sort of different species or something but as a black person I can say I do have that same bias toward white men sometime. This is a logical thing when you meet people who do not look like you. White people are quicker to call police on white men, I can tell you a black man will do the same. We look different and as such the first response to seeing something different is fear. However most of those cases in the US look like outlaws doing something wrong. White cops might find black different and control them more often but if you follow the law they ll not do anything to you. Most of the time those thugs getting killed are breaking the law. Go in a black country and a white man there will get controled more often. we are tribal animals after all, and those difference trigger irrational fears. It is not the white man fault if most black people won t engage in the police (or finish their studies). Slavery? Get OVER it...!

nope, only institutions that were there at that time should be charged. It's kind of the same as with woman that were being paid less for the same work. At least, in Canada. Build of the week #9 - Breaking your face with style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_EcQDOUN9Y

The US has a real problem with xenphobia (which isn't limited to blacks). It's as if when the country went to war with germany, they brought back a white supremacist pathogen. It's hard to forget slavery for black americans when they had to face segregation (lots of blacks are still alive from that time) and still suffer from the mindset of that era in many parts. And no, cooperating with cops in the US can get you killed because they feel threatened because you made a sudden move (such as going for the gauntlet compartment in your car to get your licenses). It's also a proven fact that blacks are disproportionately victims from sudden use of excessive force for a routine check-up. Should blacks in america forgive slavery? Yes. But they shouldn't forgive the current racism, xenophobia and profiling that they are suffering right now. " Like Germany is the only country who ever was tribalistic. Is this supposed to be a joke? What country exists that has never been tribalistic in some way? |

You'd need to define your view of "tribalistic"

You need to define "white supremacist pathogen"
Hate to spoil it for you faerwin but slavery was forbidden for christs since early chivalry, this whole black vs white boots don´t fit us and we´re not going to play Cinderella for this one. Jews however still did trade a few slawe´s back then, but due to the lack of a market, this technique never rose to prominence over here. The closest thing was maybe Knecht, Knechtschaft, Kniget, Knight, describing a person in serve to a landlord, which leased the land to him. I´m still puzzled, why do you call people with brown skin color black ? It´s like the English language has a problem with proper definitions. Let´s make a quick test, how do you call death camps that have been build from 1922 to 1950 in poland ? Carefull, the wrong answer might yeald 3 years in prison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drDs-Y5DNH8 Last edited by Lachdanan#4036 on Aug 28, 2018, 5:03:26 PM
