Mid Game Rings - Sell, Keep, or Craft?
Standard League (Does the advice below change if it is Incursion??)
I use a loot filter, and any rings and ammys that pop up I grab them. I have a huge pile of them, some of them seem to have potential. In the grand scehme of things- do I keep them for crafting, vendor them, or try to poe.trade them? I will link a few for example of what I am talking about. ![]() Please provide me rules of thumb? Like: If its white and resist is great than 20%, keep. Or if its rare and has X Y and Z stats, keep. I am open for links to reddit threads on this also, there is so much content on this topic its hard to wade through. Last bumped on Aug 10, 2018, 10:30:28 AM

Sorry, but all of these are straight up vendor food with no redeeming factors. Pyre is worth a chaos by the virtue of Loreweave existing.
For an actually usable piece of jewelry, you are looking for something like: - 60-70+ life - at least 30+ to two different resistances (more is better) - at least one damage mod directly scaling your build. You might be able to salvage a piece without one of the above if you can craft the mod on it; but crafted mods are always worse than good natural rolls. Being able to craft a resistance mod offers more flexibility though, as you can adjust it depending on the rest of your gear. The only white (non-magical) items worth even picking up and selling are Elder or Shaper bases. You can get a decent rare for any slot for trivial amounts of currency. Assuming you mean alt spamming -> regal for crafting.
Rings, like everything else, need a high ilvl in order to get the best mods. Any white or blue ring you find while levelling is JUNK. They will never be worth the more than the scroll fragment the vendor will give you. Honestly, if your filter is showing them to you, you need a new filter. The unique rings are worth about 1 chaos each, because of the Loreweave vendor recipe. Some unique rings are worth more, dont be afraid to check, but most are just going to be 1c. Rare rings to keep for use need to have 30%+ total resist AND 40+ life. Rare rings to sell need to be waaaay better than this. Everything in your picture is vendor trash except the 2 unique rings. |

1) Store all unique rings for loreweave (or sell for 1c for those who gather them)
2) Rare rings should be at least 2/3 of perfect ones for you to want keeping them for endgame. Otherwise sell or keep 60+ ilvl ones for chaos recipe. Last edited by tm10067#1871 on Aug 9, 2018, 3:30:11 AM

If you can generate enough alchs, then alch any +ilvl 70 ele resistance rings + coral. Don't bother with diamond/paua/amethyst/gold.
Don't chance white bases, it's waste of time and orbs, and you also lower dramatically the possibility of a decent outcome (most will turn blue, uniques only useful for the recipe). Keep only those with decent stats. Never craft rings, besides shaped/elder/steel/opal and ilvl 100 elemental bases (from the divination card) as an exception. Only craft when absolutely necessary and/or rich. If up to this point, chaos spam is probably most efficient, hoping for the best. Targeted crafting (alt/regal/multicraft) is way more expensive, and is a good option mostly for people in a need of certain properties for certain builds. Rule of thumb: If you can expect to find something, it doesn't have value for trade. All of those are typical rings you might have found playing the game. No one trades for that stuff... they just play the game.

Great advice everything, thanks!
For loot filter I am using https://github.com/NeverSinkDev/NeverSink-Filter on Strict, does anyone recommend a different one? |

You shouldn't be on "strict" until all you are doing is playing for trade value and map sustain. You're passing by stuff that will help you strengthen your character. Stick to "Regular" until you know your character is pretty much done.

Even the "regular" Neversink's item filter doesn't show white jewels (besides a handful of bases), unless of super high ilvl. The strict one shows even less, like zilch.
At the moment I'm in the process of upgading my rings/ammu, and instead of modifying his filter just replaced it with that one. This one is worse in many aspects, but definitely displays lower tier jewels. This is a buff © 2016
