D3 -- no PvP at release
People making excuses for the Development team failing to provide PvP at release are either
- Blind fan boys or - Work for Blizzard. Blizzard has had ridiculous amounts of time to implement it right. This is failure on Jay wilson and the development team. They made stupid decisions and in the long run they will pay for it. I blame the influence of wow care bear philosophy and greed of making money ( RMAH ). I hope Blizzard as a company collapses. They deserve it for the way they've destroyed wow and now D3 before it's even released. |

I am still drawn to d3 as ive been a blizz fan for a long time.
I will admit I feel WoW has been a failure since BC. And after reading more on d3, my biggest turn off is a cash shop. Blizz games have never ever had that. You paid for the game, and real-life money was never a factor in how well you could do in the game. It all came down to luck, skill, and time. That's why everyone loved diablo series. Everything was so random, getting soj's and epic runes just playing. Then sporting them off to show that you earned them- or - you had enough cool gear of your own to trade for them. Now imagine, I go and buy 50k soj's. Guess what, Ive only played a day and now I'm god. GG on Blizz's part. The game is ruined imo. Still looking foward to it, don't get me wrong. It just killed all the anticipation I have had for the game for years. |

I agree with everyone on the cash shop part. I think it's an asinine idea to have it in a game that will cost maybe $60 on release, then impose a monthly fee like MMO's.

" I don't think there is a monthly fee and that is more than likely why they have the cash shop in game, or at least an excuse to bring it into it. Obviously the game was ruined by marketing strategies, but the game play I think will still be entertaining. I'm glad to hear they're not selling off the PvP, I was cynical Dynamic Environment - Day/Night, Rain/Lightning - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/110100

I don't understand why anyone would be happy about a game releasing in a unfinished form. I want D3 as much as the next man but PVP is essential imo. I mean it just doesn't make sense, and how long will we have to wait to actually get pvp....it's pretty silly they would do this, at least come up with a basic form of pvp to hold us over until it can be fully completed.

" The Blizzard (North) that made Diablo doesn't exist any more: Around the time Burning Crusade was released, the studio had to close doors because Diablo 3 (yes, it was in development back then) didn't conform to Vivendi's expectations. Many employees of Blizzard North subsequently left the firm and reorganized themselves: some went on to make Torchlight. If the music there reminds you of Diablo, that's easily explained: Matt Uelmen composed both soundtracks. I think what a lot of people don't realize is that Diablo III will have nothing in common with its predecessors apart from the name and general genre. It's made by different people, with a different premise. When earlier Blizzard had to push a game back in order to give you what they considered a complete game, they did so. Diablo was delayed considerably. So was Diablo 2. So was almost every freaking game by Blizzard. That's one reason we loved them so much: Because they gave the genuine expression of "from gamers for gamers". But, to iterate the point: That company, that spirit does not exist any more under the name of today's Blizzard. "Our" Blizzard would have rocked heaven and hell to get a pushback for Diablo III in order to include PvP. The new Blizzard cuts corners and content just to bring the product out. And because so many people still sit on that "Blizzard is KING!" boat without realizing that it is a derelict wreck, Diablo III's sales will be ginormous. They're being served a lesser meal for the price of two, and they are convinced they get the best food on earth and pay happily. And will again if Blizzard tells them to shell out for their first DLC: "PvP Unlimited". 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human. D3 biggest concern for me :
level 60 cap, within one year first expansion : level cap 70... etc... so, WoW style! you don't think so ? Bashiok :" Diablo III levels are intended to pace the content, 1-30 in Normal, 30-50 in Nightmare, and 50-60 in Hell. It would stand to reason that were we to release an expansion we'd want additional levels to pace the additional content. There will absolutely be newer and better items introduced at some point as well, potentially even in patches." So, well, F... it! I was an hardcore wow raider before BC, green gloves of the owl killed my stuff and my fun... Diablo is an ARPG : means hard to reach the full level cap, but fixed level cap at start! (it's happen that it's not a big concern on BN for the ultimate vast majority... for me it is !...) ... nothing

" A lot of people will learn this by the hard way - after spending the money for it. On the long term, I dont expect D3 to be able to become comparable successful like D2 in selling counts (I personally own 3 LoD-Sets! - and I'm just a "upper" casual player!) invited by timer @ 10.12.2011
