Scammer report

This player, [Removed by Support], agreed to pay me 20c if I could complete one challenge for him.

I did then he mocked and left.

What can I do to help the community not fall into the same scheme?

You could come here and let us mock you too.

If you want to avoid stuff like this, you have to join a group of like-minded players and work exclusively with them. Branching out into what we call "randoms" is going to get you in trouble every time. Join up with a group... like I_No's crew if they'll have you. There's dozens of them. They work together. They strengthen each other. They keep players like the one you met away.

This is 100% true, like if someone dies it is their fault that they were born in the first place.

Well OP, looks like you managed to end up in a situation without recourse and only yourself to thank for it. Im sorry to say that anyone who cannot perceive the risk involved in such a deal is a lost cause.

GGG have permabanned for scammers in the past. However of course you can tell from the community response in this thread they probably won't consider your case. You can always try by reporting to support@grindinggear.com but they will probably just say "Thanks for your report!" and nothing will happen.

This because, like ThePathOfExileTM said, this is not a transaction supported by the game. It's purely an exercise of trust between people.

Trust-based agreements between people for fictional currency generally has very little legal protection.
