Headhunter from the Temple

I got the Apex of Ascension Tier III

What would be the correct item to get a chance on the headhunter?

Will it create an item that has the same item level or will it create an item that has the same level?

In other words. is it even possible to get a headhunter this way? the only level 40 unique belts that are around are headhunters...

or...

Do i need to put in a leather belt that had item level 80 (like most headhunters) to make a chance on a headhunter?

The game would be so much smoother to play when it does not talk in secrets and you need go to the terror pit of Reddit to find some sort of an answer, completely destroying a positive mood at the same time.

It doesnt talk in secrets..... okay sometimes it does, but no, you need a unique belt. Thats it, its as easy as it states at the Sacrifice Alter.

The question is simple but the answer seems complex.

However, it seems something will be taken over from the item, but it this ilvl or lvl, type (leather belt or just belt) it is just not clear...

It probably works like an ancient orb. What makes you think people know? Even trial and error would take an awful lot of trials to rule anything out. You'd just learn that “this particular unique item gave a headhunter”. That doesn't prove that another item with a different ilevel would not have given the headhunter.

let me be clear. I do understand that there will be no 100% chance to get a headhunter.

The reason why i put this question in here, is to find out what item would have a chance to become a headhunter (or anything else). This question is here because there is no proper source that explains how the process works.

Now we already have 8? posts but still no proper answer.

The biggest problem is that there are people replying who don't add anything to the conversation and just cause internet gibberish and post counts, like on Reddit. In the past, Porn was the biggest cause for traffic on the internet. Nowadays it is epeen and gibberish that does not get moderated.

If someone just explains how the process works with some details, we wouldn't need this conversation. preferably from GGG (they read the article because they moved the message to the correct forum).

You put ANY unique belt on altar.
You get ANY unique belt (league-specific unique belts - Headhunter - are possible outcomes).
As any other method of obtaining Headhunter, odds are against you - chance is very very VERY low.

So it looks like, the process ignores level but produces an item that has the same ilvl

As you can see, it does not keep the same base. this means it looks like you don't need to put in a leather belt to get a leather belt but any belt could give you a chance.

Be sure to bookmark it. It's pretty useful to keep open while playing.

At Level 3, you will gain a unique item of the same item class as the one sacrificed.

If you want a head hunter. Be sure to sacrifice a belt.
