PoB downloaded 1.000.000+ times

So it means there are roughly 1.000.000+ players in PoE? Moreover this is amount of advanced players because new players don't know / don't need PoB.

I'm pretty sure that figure is not unique downloads and each time someone updates their existing installation it counts as another download. An impressive achievement none the less.

There are 2 possibilities. First, there are 5-10 thousands of players, which updating their PoB on regular basis. It’s very useful, but complicated tool, so some players have it downloaded, but actually doesn’t use it. Second option is… Chinese market. There is Chinese version of PoE and everything is possible there, even 1M unique downloads :)

I count as 4. Have PoE on Laptop, Desktop, 2 Work Computers. Although I don't use those installs so much anymore since I no longer run trade operations while at work.

You are not even close. According to an accident where a data file got leaked PoE is 27th on their total Steam accounts per game list at 7.6 million PoE accounts. See for yourself:

Valve leaks Steam game player counts; we have the numbers

And this is just Steam accounts. Probably half to two thirds of all PoE players use the stand alone client (I do) so at least double that number.

I don't think half of players are on standalone client, it was surely true few years ago but there is no reason to think so atm.

absolutely no way that many people use the standalone

We have no way to know if majority of PoE players today are running the Steam client. I don't need another boot time app running in the background taking up memory (however small amount it may be) and using any cpu time. The stand alone PoE client works very well for me so I should think many others are of the same opinion too. Maybe I'm wrong but GGG never tells so we'll never know.

Told my wife awhile back that guy should of charged $1 for the program and if that million is still like 500K different people using it that guy would be rich.
