I wouldn't rule it out but since there's no cross-play and no migrating of mtxes, I'm not sure I see that much point. They'd be trying to garner a whole new playerbase for this dense, third-party-tools-necessary PC-built ongoing-beta on a system for people largely looking for a more streamlined couch-gaming experience.

That didn't stop them from releasing on Xbone, did it?

The real roadblock is probably just money. Devkits and programmers are expensive stuff, and you'd need a few of both for a PS4 port. Also, Xbone is practically a Windows PC already. PS4 is drastically different, so it would probably involve a lot more effort than the Xbone port did.
There was no "news" on the Xbox release... they just sprung it on us one day.
God I hope so. PS4 needs an ARPG in a bad, bad way and there has been very few decent games lately to fill the void for players who enjoy them.

I'd be buying a copy for myself and every unemployed friend.

Yes. The DirectX API is more or less the graphics API for the XBox. The PS4 uses an API based on OpenGL-ES, which is a pretty radically different programming model, so the cost would be comparable to porting to macOS: essentially, replace all the interactions of the engine with the graphics API entirely.
I sure hope not, it shouldn't even be on Xbox but since Xbone's OS may as well be Windows 10 the PoE Xbone release felt way more of a "let's do it because we can" rather than a planned "let's release this game on a console"

The thing with the xbox is that it was easy to port, in fact not much porting was done, they put it on the console made some minor changes and it was working, all they had to do was start optimizing and reworking the UI(the working on the skills), the PS4 however would also need a substantial amount of money put into porting it and getting it to work, it's much the same reason we don't have a linux or mac port, just to costly to do so.

Not that i would rule it out but it really depends on how much GGG think it would cost and if there is an actual player base that would cover that cost (so wait for the xbox to start showing how well it has done or not done)
That and how the game is monetized and how the contract would work between sony and GGG

After all, were it that simple people wouldn't have gotten their titties so twisted that GGG were misallocating PC supporter resources and funds when the Xbox version was revealed.

Ohh yes they would...have you seen the fucking forum or reddit?, they get bent out of shape over every little fucking thing, even if no money was spent, there would STILL be people screaming bloody murder about it.

Usually if people wants to play a specific game enough, they usually just go for buying the specific Console itself.
So many people today is actually doing that instead of waiting for it to be released on the specific ones.
Never gone for console play at all... even when at a friend's house who has one. Is play on the Xbox reasonable? Couldn't imagine playing without a mouse.
