Spells : What is the point of cold damage, when fire/lightning is so much better?

you claim light / fire is inferior to cold right in terms of dmg?

But then why are the most pouplar build all cold bases?

GC Mines / Gc TOtems / Frostbolt Totem / Freeze Pulse ? ( thats all cold ones which I know )
Arc ... ( thats it ONE LIGHT Skill <3 )

pls dont forget COld bases skills have a higher base damage compared to fire/light because they dont have a 2nd damage ..... ( 580 on GC / 950 freeze pulse / 1.1k frostbolt vs arc 511 // magma prb 880 )

OP, you'r throwing too many things in one pot: Elementalist ascendancy mechanics, ailment mechanics and base damage have nothing to do with each other per se.

Is CHILL a weak mechanic atm? Yes. But that has nothing to do with the general powerlevel of cold spells. As many others have pointed out, cold spells are really strong atm. I know it might sound counterintuitive, but nobody forces you to scale chilleffect. You can for example just equip a bereks grip ring with your elementalist, and boom, you shock everything with any spell, no matter wich element it is.

Would i like to be chill a bit more impactful? Hmmm, why not. Yeah, i think i can give you that.
