[3.9] Discomancer - Skeleton Mages | SSF HC viable | All Content | Budget

Hello! I love this build, currently trying it out for Incursion league :D One question: Since the new way vaal skills are combined with their regular counterpart, should we just socket Haste/Vaal Haste into the essence worm ring? Or should we still use both? Also I'm assuming we also put Vaal Skeles in the main setup and just use the vaal for boss fights or hard rares? Thanks again, having lots of fun ^^

Yeah you can use the Vaal Haste. The extra level (21) wouldn't do that much and we don't need extra aoe range from the quality.

No we don't use Vaal Skeletons, we have spectres for that.

As support for all that we use Arc to procc Elemental Overload for cold and fire damage

but there is no EO in finall tree, or im missing something

As you can see from the ongoing text it was about equilibrium. Tree is fully correct, just a brainfart :)

I just noticed today the text "if you die a lot" in your guide, and realized that this may not be one written for HC... and I'm currently trying to play it as HC, up now to the harvest casually because I want to just clear monsters w/o worrying about going after bosses... but to get there, I need to kill the bosses w/o dying while leveling up...

have I made a mistake? ^^;

My guides are mostly for new players, so they take things like that into account.
Every Summoner is HC viable. Just don't play with Tabula and get enough life and early resists and keep in mind, while this game can definitely all endgame content (except Halls of Grandmasters), it is designed to effeciently farm up to T12.
It can go to t15 even on a 5L but you will notice a small slowdown.

If you can amass richness you can get this build easy beyond everything. Just think of some sexy Double Vaal on the Pledge or Vis.

Totally no problem with this build.
If you have any problems with this build, especially below tier 12 you're doing something really very wrong. It's extremely noobfriendly and served some from my guild already very good as first build.

You are playing HARDCORE with literally NO LIFE on anything except your gloves...
Your helm is also no use as it is a SRS helmet

Else your tree is okay. There shouldn't be any problem atm. Summon up all your skeletons, preferbly half a screen in front of you. they take out everything in no time.

Every boss melts. When you get to Act 6 everything will just get more easy with vanguards.

Yep! On A6 now, just cleared my first apex temple.

Question, though. What level are our gems supposed to be? Am I supposed to be looking for / crafting up +DEX on gear to be able to level up those skeleton's GMP and Pierce? Or is there any other tricks to getting those necessary stats?

Currently saving up for that Vis, either Blood Aqueduct or farming Cruel Lab should let me get it - so I'm hesitant to reroll anything for better mods ^^

and yeah, I equipped the SRS helm because I thought I could still use them / wanted to test it out / haven't found anything to replace it haha. I'll see what I can craft right now, though.
