XP Death Penalty level 90+

I think some sort of death penalty is needed, but too heavy penalty that loses 10% of XP should be changed. If death penalty is a moderate, the game play becomes exciting with tense, but current penalty imposes boring play inversely because absolutely must avoid death. It is really a boring play that completely excludes risks, and just continue to run In absolutely safe tier map. And just after the level goes up, abandon all the XP in that play and risky events is done by suicide attack.
Maybe, I think that this is the generic playstyle of the current PoE for many players, but I can't think that its all players feel it as fun.

BTW, now GGG is trying to enable the new playstyle by revamping skills. But as long as the death penalty does not change, the new playstyle will never be enabled. In this game that must think an avoiding death as top priority, playstyles are so limited.
Conversely, if the death penalty has been changed that tens of hours of play in the past are not wasted, the playstyles will increase even if skills are not revamped.

Thus players are rewarded with high levels not by PLAYING the game but instead by "gaming" the game: I.e., exploiting unintended (or sometimes, I am very sad to say, intended or at the very least tolerated) imbalances in game design. Usually horribad imbalances.

Those who actually try to play the game on its own terms are the ones who will never see the number 100.

That.

We are forced to choose between leveling up or playing the game content. We just can't do both.

Very strange game design indeed.
