Elemental Hit/ EB/ 7 Auras/ Status Ailment Bow Guide
Hi All,
I shall detail in here how to do a feasible Elemental/ 7 Aura awesome archer as a shadow. There is a few variant which you can potentially use in this build. I will highlight the few different ones below the main core of the build. I will also share my experience as I slowly progress to level 70. Main Core: - HP focus 216% HP nodes. (almost all major heath nodes near shadow)/ Armor (Enough to survive the occasional 2-3 hits & 1 charge from Rhoa) 21 - EB to run 6-7 auras. Confirmed auras: Determination/ Grace/ Wrath/ Anger/ Discipline Optional auras: Purity/ Clarity/ Hatred - Determination + Grace + Iron Reflex should give you pretty good dmg reduction. Nodes like nullification + leather & steel. At level 48, running grace + IR + determination gives you 50% reduction in damage. - Increase Flat out elemental damage with crit/ accuracy. Ways we can branch out to. Status Ailment Archer - Elemental Hit generates a random element with every new hit, i.e. LMP can have 3 different elements of arrow, every new chain is a different element. Huge potential ailments especially with Shadow's crit + 5% Blaze/ Shock/ Freeze nodes. (still need some testing) Inner force - Will buff you 30% more for each different aura you have. Only cons is the points you spent to branch there. I do not recommend going there as you waste at least 8 nodes just to get there, whereas you can get at least 30% increase projectile dmg by going below. Nonetheless, I have added the build as well. Critical nodes. - If you do not go Inner force, you can save 10 points. If you don't go the 5% blaze/ shock/ freeze you will save 6 points. All this you can put into the crit chance/ multiplier nodes. Main Core Attack: - Elemental Hit + LMP + Added Elemental Dmg + Added Lightening or Added Cold. Flat out damage gem setup. - Elemental Hit + LMP + Chain + elemental proliferating With high crit + shadow nodes, potential Status Ailment burning/ freezing & shocked creep? Support Curse: - Temporal Chain will slow them down for you to shot at, and will increase your status duration. - Elemental Weakness, obviously, since you are utilizing all 3 elements at once. Support Totem (I haven't reach 31 yet, but I can guess the following will be useful): - Skeleton summoning totem with increase minion HP. Basic meatshield for you. - Ice Shot + GMP + Elem proliferating Totem + Range attack totem, to gain time for you to kite, run and shot. Skill Tree Optional: As you can see, we can easily take Mana Drinker, which I suggest to go ahead and take it first. Although our focus is elemental dmg, all bows come with some form of Physical damage and that 2% may help when you are still low level with little to 0 mana regen nodes. Core 30 points: Core 60 points: Core 87 points: Status Ailment + Core: Inner Force + Status Ailment + Crit focus: Playstyle I am not a hardcore player, so this build is not specifically meant for the hardcore players. Although I firmly believe that if you play safe enough, you can still utilize this build as I haven't had a single death until I tried to kill act 3 Slums Piety at lvl 24 (3 levels below map level). All this without a single hour into farming as I was just rushing. I have taken enough HP nodes 216% w/ hopefully >50% damage reduction because of armor + aura + IR, and balance it with dps. The play-style is really a high risk, fast pace, high damage attack speed, melt group, see colors on creeps but have to be real careful and understand how creeps kill (their damage pattern so you know how to avoid) kind of game. Not to mention high support with 7 aura. Latest Update. lvl 25 now, I just reach act 3 normal. Survivability is good but if soloing act 3 unique will need some skills unless you can twink with good life leech. Currently running 3 aura now. Clarity/ Anger/ Wrath and taking up only 60% of my mana with 40% left. Lvl 29, cleared lvl 32 map docks easily 2 hits and they are bound to die. This is after changing to a rare bow with only 1.32 aps.:) more updates to come Lvl 33, running 5 auras with a slow APS bow, swapped Quillrain out, have zero mana issues since I have clarity running. damage is still good. in cruel act 1 now. lvl 48, soloed merciless flooded depths which is a lvl 58 map. Its not easy, but it is done. Farming at merciless ledge now to do catch up on levels. Its really easy, now trying to figure what is the best support to go for. With determination + grace + IR, I am getting 51% reduction because of armor. if I turn off determination, it is 46%. Credits - Kudos to aimlessgun for introducing some modification to the build which I feel will cater for some playstyles. I have added that into the various branch builds. - to violentz for pointing out to me that some small health nodes are actually 12%. IGN: Aiers. Last edited by aiers#1673 on Mar 7, 2013, 6:07:47 AM

It COULD work, but you definitely need to go back over the health nodes and optimize a bit. You took an hp ring that's all 8%(that you didn't have to go through) and skipped 1 12% node near shadow start and another health ring with a 12% at the end south of shadow start.
I understand you taking all the accuracy nodes because it's a bit of an issue late game unless you have resolute technique\lioneye's(in which case you should drop all of them), but I think you're really overvaluing the projectile dmg nodes. I'll try to take a better look at it when I'm home tomorrow. |

" noted, I tweaked the health nodes. Didn't realize that those small nodes are actually 12%. And yes, 1 reason why I choose Shadow for bow instead of Templar although its will be more efficient is because Shadow have access to accuracy nodes. RT is good, but no crits. So if you want dmg for templar, you almost have to go Static Blows + LA. But I wanted to use Elemental Hit. Shadow is close to ranger's accuracy + allows some crits for the various elemental ailments to happen. Another problem is damage, I realize mostly its physical damage nodes down the tree near shadow. so only way to increase elem dmg is via projectile dmg which luckily have quite abit. of course we still have the auras. I tweaked again to go a separate route to get crits & crit mutlipler for more dmg which I think will make the built more efficient. Also to get leather and steel. IGN: Aiers. " I am doing similar build lately, and if you are gonna go EB, its good idea to help oak in beginning as well. My Craft Logs-thread/359202

" For the hp right? Yes I am considering. I am starting to embark on this build. Till date so far so good. Hows your build like? IGN: Aiers.

why not ranger then? accuracy at start of the tree, u can easily reach EB and IR

" I did a 100 pts build branching from shadow and ranger. Both are possible to start with. But I recommend shadow because: -eb is closer and we should get it asap. -more life nodes near shadow means easier survival earlier. -we will reach IR around lvl 50-60 which is abt the time u can run 5-7 auras anyway. -shadow looks cooler. :) -I will run this as a progressive guide as I go along. There is alot of things we can do. Like what support totem to go for? And etc. IGN: Aiers.

No where near enough life, and focusing to much on dmg nodes.
You dont really need dmg passives to be effective. Your a glass cannon right now. In a gorup that great soloing youll die alot. Defenitly not a HC build. Rather than go down to ranger tree, I would go to the middle of the tree for the massive health nodes, strength dmg bonus works on ranged node is all the dmg youll need, and if your running 7 aura's Inner force is a must (30% extra effect of aura's is crazy good). You wont kill stuff as fast but youll find your not running away as much. EDIT: Your build has base +142 life, 152% max life. Try something like this. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgYBAdwMfQ6tD6sQfxRSGNsaVRv6HNweGiQ8Jd8mlSepKPoppSpbKros6S1HMHUyfjZ7OrM64UGHQ5xGcUd-SVFKfU3jUEJTNVVLWm1br2EhYeJlTWegapNs9m1sbXtuaW6qcrt4DXq4fll_xoIegseE2Yd2iPGMNpAKkyeVIJrMoqOkGaZXp1ypbqvFrFmsuq6TtAy1SLXyuJO8n76KvqfAD8HzxLjGnstB0hnSTdQZ1e3V-NbR2wvdDeHa4urjn-d06-7xdvzF_o__kw== With no items - base +222 life with +230% max life 24% projectile dmg increase + strength dmg bonus -> more than enough You do get IR late, but your so tanky its not an issue. + positives with running a ele hit is that late game you dont need to worry about reflect mobs as your a mixture. I would almost prefer to skip IR and go down this route. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgYBAdwFLQx9D6sQfxRSGlUb-hzcHhokPCXfJpUnqSj6KlsquizpLUcwdTJ-Nns6szrhQYdGcUd-SVFKfU3jUEJTNVVLWm1gS2EhYeJlTWegapNs9m1sbXtuaW6qcrt07XgNerh6735Zf8aCHoLHhNmE74d2iPGMNpAKkyeVIJrMoqOkGaZXp1ypbqvFrFmsuq6TtAy1SLXyuJO8n76KvqfAD8HzxLjGnstB0hnSTdQZ1e3V-NbR2wvdDeHa4urjn-d06-7xdvzF_o__kw== +227 base life, +258% max life as well as the extra regen from golems blood. NOTE: Dont rush EB, go to the middle cluster of life nodes, you should get there by early cruel. Then when you have a leveled clarity & dicipline before you switch and turn on all auras permanently. EDIT: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgYBAdwFLQX5C2EOrQ-rFFIV8BjbGS4ZihrbG_oeGiXfJpUppSpbLOktgzJ-Nns6szrhQ5xHfkp9TeNQUFM1VElVS1W1VvpXDVhjW69fP2BLYSFh4mVNZ6Bqk2z2bWxte25pbqpyu3TtdPF4DXloeu-E2YTvh3aI8Yw2jM-QCpcGm7WeuZ7NpBmmV6luq8WsWa6TtUi18rndvoq-p8APwQTEuMbYy0HSGdIh0k3Uj9Xt1fjW0dlh3Q3i6udS53TuDu8O8i_2SPlj_MX-j_-T +267 life, 237% max life with MASSIVE regen 4.4% per sec. This is another way to do it, do this if your not running auras. You can grab those 3 life nodes near IR early and respec out of them latter when your close to the marauder tree. You could even ditch mana flows and get golems bloode thru the bottom and go Blood Magic. Alot of variety is there if you want it. Last edited by whindog#3218 on Mar 3, 2013, 12:41:19 AM
