3.8 New Queens Escape + Baron - super fast physical skeletons + zombies

"
Playing this pretty slowly on hardcore. What should I do, I can't afford Astramentis so I have no dex for level 1 phase run or for a leveled desecrate. Good job I can't afford queens escape either because I wouldn't be able to equip that without dex as well.

The easiest option is give up desecrate/phase run altogether for now, and to use flame dash and faster casting. With the buffs this patch, this skill is now great for getting you out of trouble in a hurry, and for moving faster.

Otherwise,
You can take dex from the tree (2 points for 30 dex) or use one jewel slot for dexterity (careful planning is great if you can find it). Having movespeed and phasing is definitely worth 2 damage or health nodes!

You can get also some dex on boots, gloves, amulet, rings, or craft it onto them.

Eventually, it's worth getting enough to at least have the queens escape, because defensively, there is a huge difference between fast minions who get in front of you, and slow minions who trail behind you.
Watching SFHobbit playing his summoner and he's using a 1h mace with mods= supported by faster attacks, added fire and maim so thats effectively a 6L, so thats also a nice defensive option since you can use a high life shield or Ahns etc

There is also a melee summoner version where you use wyrmsign gloves for the concentrated effect pseudo 5 link zombies. This frees up both weapon slots for advancing fortress and shield (or mon'treguls + ahns), or even frees up body armour for kaoms heart. HC and SSF players are using this option as it is much safer and easier to find solo.

On a side note, I had an ahns contempt/reckless defence (theory) version of the skelly only build that had 75/75 block, 35/50 dodge, fortify, enfeeble, grace (or 3 purities) and 9K life pool before the spell block nerfs in 3.4. I only got that character to about level 85 before I gave up.

It had an Effective life of 120,000 according to the calculator I use (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1hd136bdTfO-V2jsP9sBCxZS8D0iXqFUgyQx0BtQEOrY), and still had damage of about 2 mil shaper DPS, but I still died to some random flame effect from a trash mob, so I cursed ggg and gave it up. (also the lack of clearspeed and movespeed was killing me)

Here is roughly what it looked like: https://pastebin.com/tkbb1er1
I've been ignoring physical minions in Delve because none of the new items are worth testing with this build. Instead, I've found 4 builds that were worth writing down, I thought I'd share here because I'd love others to try them and find new variations:

3.4 Fun/Meme Build Guides
The Drunken Moonwalker Occultist Projectiles: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2228787
(Note: This one took a while to take off (not until level 69, and throwing 20 chaos investment in decent resists gear, but at that point, whoa boy did it become fun! I'm definitely taking this one to end game, it could be a real winner. I have barely been touched by a monster since I finished uber lab and worked to T9 maps)

Lazy Totem SRS Tank: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2202060
(not a great synergy build, but my first ever build was an SRS totem ...)

Super Speedy SRS and Zombies: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2219721
(This one levels even smoother than the physical minion build, but falls off defensively late game)

Kitavas thirst SRS, with 'where the hell am I' flame dashes: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2200389
(you'll die from it, but I recommend trying kitavas thirst and flame dash at least once, it's laugh out loud funny!)

Has anyone tried Hall of Grandmaster with this build?
What was your experience?
PoE nowadays looks more and more like a fork server with tons of custom weird experimental stuff rather than original game with carefully thought out balance brough live to players.
I am loving this build. I can do up to Level 14 maps with ease, now just trying to get the last two pesky trails for Uber Lab. Got strength to 1017 by the skin of my teeth, but the leech makes it so worth it.

Equipment-wise, not sure where to go from here, other than upgrading to 6 links?

Quality on your gems is nice too.
It's definitely worth a few lab runs to get enchants on boots and gloves. A decent helmet Enchant is harder to get, as there are so many trash ones that can appear.
Nvm stupid question

thanks mate for the build. I been running it in Delve. My gear is still sub standard but getting there in SSF. I tried a few other builds but I just keep coming back to this. it survives so easily and is fun.

cheers

This build can't do Hogm. PVP scaling kills your minions instantly.
